Well, I think everyone else has pretty much summed it up. It's freakin rediculous that some old chief has nothing better to do that complain about a college mascot. It's a freaking college mascot for shit sakes. Next thing you know, some athiest is going to complain about the Devils Lake Satans mascot. Oh, nevermind... thats already gone too.

I didn't read all the final responses, but i agree that we need to cancel the programs they get. At UND, they basically go as far as they want in school for free. In the med school (possibly elsewhere, but i know this for a fact) indians have there own lounge with tons of nice shit in it and special tutors to help them with everything, and you are not allowed in unless you are indian. Also, all the stuff about the ralph getting demo'd if they changed the name is RUMOR. The ralph announced last week that they are still waiting to decide whether they will allow UND to play there anymore if they change the name. The ppl that run it now have the right to decide if they want to allow them to continue to use it. They would have to get rid of most of the sioux logos in there though, which is alot. They could keep all the championship banners, pictures, and all of that tho.

I say UND should cut off all of their special treatment for the tribe's students and make them pay for a new arena if they want them to change their name. The school shouldn't have to suffer because some old farts don't have anything else to complain about, especially since they get government checks and breaks while going there.

Its politics and how the "Sioux" tribe wants more money. Like most of you said, I think it would be an honor to have a name of college that does so well in sports. Its really stupid I personally think on how the tribe is getting so hurt about this. They werent complaining a couple years ago, know why all of a sudden its a big deal? You dont see the "Utah Utes" and that tribe getting mad about it or the San Diego Padres and the catholic church. All in all I just think its money that the tribe wants.

If u can't provide shelter for yourself or cant put food on the table, tough shit. If my grandpa can go from eating lard and bread sandwiches, going to school till the 4th grade, and being dirt poor as a kid to owning several businesses and being able to carry enough cash in his wallet to buy the best caddies and chryslers money could buy back in the day, anyone can. It's just people nowdays are usually too fucking lazy to go work their asses off to get somewheres in life, cuz our society doesnt push it, they just know the govt will give them what they need to get by.

I went to a highschool with a mandatory bussing system (kids were bussed around to different schools to meet racial quotas).
I can assure you that many of the black kids in my school didn't want to be "integrated", and that "reverse-racism" is alive and well amongst some people.
Being a white minority in that situation was occasionally unpleasant.
Multi-culturalism is a good then when done well. It's an ugly thing when it's done badly. Since government always does a bad job at everything.... well you can guess where I'm going

Brandon...you should really watch the movie American History X ...that may change your mind on the last 2 paragraphs...Granted you can't take that movie as the total truth, it def. opens up your mind to what can and most likely does go on in our society.
