Thats an insult to irishmen everywhere, besides they all spend their money on booze. i think is a combination of the scrap metal, living 30 to a 3 bedroom apartment, and the government cheese. Although some of them do work really hard, Anel the guy with the blue v6 mustang has like 3 jobs, and is saving money to turbo it. I guess free time is more precious to me than it is to them.

I don't have a problem with anyone working 3 jobs in leiu of being on some sort of public aid. If they're on public aid and working 3 jobs and then buying a nice car, that's still better then them not working 3 jobs.

The people who do nothing and just collect money are the lowest rung. People that game the system and collect while working are better because at least they are injecting value into the economy.

I worked with a bosnian named Bishlaga for a few years at a construction job. He said that the bosnians that lived in the big apt complexes on 32nd ave ran a sort of communal thing with their income. They pooled the money from all the families, paid all the bills, then every month one of them got something huge, the next month it was someone elses turn. Everyone is taken care of, and in the long run everyone gets their "toy". He said this was also helped out by tax exeptions.

Taking the Bosnian (obvious reference by the OP) defense stance here. Many of the "non-americans" you speak of are actually Americans (naturalized, or other)...or at least legal aliens here on J5 visa's. Some of the bosnians that I have talked with have parents who are here as Doctor's or other healthcare professionals. These people can afford BMW's for themselves or their kids. Now don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people here who live off the system (White/Bosnian/Indian/Black/Chinese/etc...) but to categorize all of them as free-loaders is a misconception

I looked in to what it costs to maintain them, they certainly are expensive, most people don't really put any miles on them...

with the F1 transmissions they go through clutchs frequently if people use the "automatic" mode becuase it slips it everywhere, the other common thing is belt replacement...

Here's what forbes.com says "Engine oil for the Enzo costs $72 per quart, and routine, 3,000-mile tune-ups of Ferraris can costs thousands of dollars due to all of that race car technology."

                          and from the Ferrari boards:

"The main costs you have to worry about are the major services (15K,30K miles or every 3 years) because of the complexity of the work requiring hours since it is an engine out service. Depending on which shop you bring it to, either an independent or an official Ferrari dealer, this would cost around $6-8K in the USA. "

You can call bullshit all you want, im only repeating what i have been told by someone who repairs them. As for proof head gaskets are made, think about it!, if the heads warp or whatever after time, obvyously manufacturing gaskets will solve having to buy new heads, or having to have some expensive machine work.

If there wasn't a headgasket from the factory, a Ferrari dealer wouldn't put one in to "solve" the problem, they'd replace the head.

I'm guessing they have a headgasket though...

I will agree with you on that jim, i did some reading on the net, from what i understand is that they dont use gaskets in the heads like in a chevy or ford, they use like ring and seat gaskets (as far as i can see). as i have said, i was only repeating what i was told by a mechanic that works on them, as i have never owned one. 🙂 but i will stick with maintenance being very expensive, as im sure jim can vouch for (owning a bimmer and a mercedes), even my mercedes is not cheap to maintain, even when i do the repairs myself!!!!

Apparently cord snipping is quite a lucrative business.
