Not open and a defender in his intended target area perhaps? No good reads of the defense perhaps? Game not on the line to where you might need to take a chance? There are a number of reasons why he might not have done it before but felt the need to at that time.

Damn it, I just got suckered into defending a Viking QB....

Meh, it's just one game and Lambeau is not an easy place to win. I still think we'll win the division.

Ok so he was basically just hoping that he was where he was supposed to be and was not covered? Well I'm not a football player but that doesn't sound smart!

As a general rule, when you walk up to the line of scrimmage and read the coverage, you have a set receiver, otherwise known as a hot read. If you wait for a receiver to actually get open(on most occasions, anyway), it won't turn out well. When they talk about timing, this is exactly what they mean. Passing is all about rhythm and timing. However, not every route works like this(ie streaks). You could tell Jackson was not ready to handle their excellent press coverage(I hate to say it, but I am a Woodson fan, ever since Michigan), but I'd say it was maybe a little too physical to be completely legal........

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

This is one case where I hope to be wrong but huge mistake. ESPN was just pointing out the fact the Vikings' receivers/tight end have dropped 2 sure TD's and a 190 yards worth of sure catches in these 2 games. There's plenty more that weren't "sure catches" that SHOULD'VE been catches. Not to mention the pathetic play calling...don't even wanna start on the play calling. Fuck the coaching staff. If they use Frerotte like a real QB he might look better but he's not.

But I'm a Vikings fan before a T-Jack fan so a win will be a win no matter who gets the credit but this is a mistake.

Exactly. We could have had Chad Pennington. What the FUCK are we thinking? We would have been like the Ravens/Bucs for all I cared. We have a GREAT RB, and that makes the passing game MUCH easier, and who better to take advantage of that in our shitty conservative "passing" game, but Mr. Pennington, the career leader in completion percentage. We get big plays in the run game, we don't need an 80 yard pass deep, if we can connect on 70% of passes under 15 yards. It moves the chains. The regime is too stubborn to change its plan and it won't work well. I'm tired of the play calling as well. It's ridiculous. It looked like the Redskins offense from that first monday night game...need 17 on 3rd down you get 4...on 4th down you dump it off to your back and get maybe 8. It's a mirror image.

TJack sucks. he can't make plays with his arms. outside of the williamson catch and the rice catch, his rating of passes completed 20 yards or more is pathetic, thats 20 yard throw and catch, not 20 yard throw, catch then run.

Great move. Now just open up the playbook

If the object of football was to stand still and throw a football through a tire hanging from a tree, Gus would probably be the better choice. But our receivers don't know how to get separation and the one that does (berrian) has a hurt toe still so we need that mobility. I'm not saying T-Jack will ever be a Manning, Brady, or even a top 10 quarterback but we haven't seen him fully used. Young quarterbacks need to get into a rhythm. The repetitive and predictable offensive schemes are the last thing that's gonna help him.

Frerotte will likely be sacked 6 or 7 times and they'll have to bring T-Jack back anyway....but if Frerotte can prove me wrong I wouldn't mind it one bit.

                            again.

jackson has never proven he can make plays with his arm.

he has shown 0 progression in 16 games. he's too inconsistent.

He hasn't been given a chance. If we're gonna accuse him of losing games for us, let him lose a full game. Not let him make hand offs up the middle for 57 minutes then expect him to save the day like we did against the Packers. Like I said....rhythm.

I wish we had a back-up for Brad Childress. There's a reason they didn't let him call plays in Philly...........

Omg. He passes for like 26-30 times a game and only gets 150 yards. Rarely gets a passing td. Hell hes had 2 halves so far this year with 30 passing yards or less.

Its really obvious Childress(who i hate dont get me wrong) has no faith in the kid to do stuff in through the air.

And Im with him there, I think TJack sucks.

Very happy with the victory but just as I predicted they actually opened up the playbook, Frerotte looked pretty good, and now will get all the credit despite not being the better quarterback.
