From In-forum.comJolien Schwan said Thursday that it was frustrating to be stuck in her Eagle Run home for several days when she knew others in the area were getting out and about.
Schwan, who couldn’t get to her job Tuesday or Wednesday, was able to leave her home after her street was opened at 9:30 a.m. Thursday.
She said her husband, Chuck, was even more upset than she was about the time it took the city to clear snow, and she said he let city officials know.
“My husband called three times yesterday and once this morning, and he sent an** e-mail** to the mayor this morning,” Schwan said.Thats what happens when you move to the wrong side of the river...

Do u have any idea how the city plowing works... maybe you should've thought about that before you moved to where u are now...The frustrating part was watching the streets around us get cleared...the entire neighborhood was clear by 3pm on Wednesday. I called and asked if we were forgotten and was told that they were out cleaning alleyways and I'd be cleared later in the day. Called again at 4:30pm and wanted to know if I was still going to be cleaned that day. Was told yes, you are next on the list. Ok, no problem. 8am next morning...still not cleared, I ended up missing a HUGE bid that I was almost assured to win at work because I wasn't able to get to work by 10am. I called in bitching this time...was told my street would be cleared by 5pm that day. Sent letter to mayor. Got phone call within 5 minutes saying my street was accidentally missed...payloaders were there in 15 minutes and road was cleared in 1/2 hour.
And yes, I know how plowing works. I also know that the city fucked up and MISSED my road entirely. My street is 200yards long at best, we had 6 to 8' snow drifts in there. I expected that based on my location and open backyard to the west (no trees/house/etc....) what I didn't expect was to be skipped over when EVERY road around me was cleared the day before. It wasn't just me who was bitching either, each of my neighbors (that I spoke with) made MULTIPLE calls to the city and were told the same thing. If my whole neighborhood would have been cleared on tuesday morning, that is something I could have accepted.

make ur own damn path ... 20-30 mph in to a powder 6 foot bank + 3/4 ton turck = snow bank owned... might have to run at it a few times...

Oh...and the article comes off the wrong way a bit as well. It sounds like we are complaining about being the last neighborhood to be cleaned, which we weren't (at least Jolien and I weren't), we were just frustrated that literally every street in our neighborhood was cleaned except ours.

Hey chuck you know w/ a proper network infrastructure and phone system at work you could have worked from home and not lost your bid.
I mean... just sayin.... there is ways to make you not cry about it ever again.
