I was out for 17 hours Thursday. I had just gotten home and put my feet up to relax when the phone rang. My in-laws decided with the raised crest to go all night to bag their house in S Moorhead (Tessa Terrace).
Found out Friday afternoon that my buddy's house that I spent Monday, Tuesday, and part of Thursday at out in Oakport had water up to the ceiling in the basement of their bi-level. He had a 5.5 foot braced plywood dike good to 43 feet. Don't know how it failed but there was already seapage Thursday afternoon when I left so I don't think it breached. On Thursday morning I watched the water come in and fill his entire yard 8 inches deep in 15 mintues. Here are a couple pics of the dike we built...what a bitch to see it go in vain.

Sorry, but I just can't feel bad for people in this... it happens every year...The only house I want to see flood is the one you live in.

I just got back from patrol, 2 hours flew by pretty quick. A cop came and bullshitted with us for a bit. not bad but its starting to get chilly. I know I havnt sandbagged much, but every little bit helps, Im too sick to be out there for 12 hours, dayquil only does so much lol.

Is everything perty much done then? Filling bags and dike building i mean?

anyone know how bad 94 is heading west bound from the cities???? Wondering if we will be able to make it back?? Also the news out here said that next week, that the dikes that were built will most likely not make it from the pressure of the water??? I just dont want to come back and then weds wake up and fargo is pretty much gone.

All the **rumors **and false information going around is getting a little ridiculous. That is what is making this 'chaos.'The reason all these rumores are flying around is because there are a lot of people who feel they are with holding information from us.
Alot of these rumors are turning out to be true.
funny how that works out.

The water has gone down behind my house by 2 inches since 4am. I hope we already hit our crest. -
