Maplewood State Park i heard is really nice, its by pelican rapids... me and my dad drove thru it one day I'm not sure if they went or not because they got a 40ft motorhome, and was a lot of trees with not a lot of room

maplewood state park is really nice, or you could always go up by bemidji

What kind of camping are you looking for? Tent, seasonal or just with a smaller pull behind on weekends? There are TONS of places around. Almost every decent lake in the area has 2 or so resorts. You can search for resorts/campgrounds on google maps, etc.

If you're just looking for fishing, then thats a completely different story.

Itaska state park, good luck getting a camping spot. Its always booked. But very nice place. Ive camped at maplewood also and its alright. But the scenery at Itaska is awesome.

18,000 some lakes in mn . most of which will have somewhere to camp. throw a dart and go

Theres no reason to drive as far as Bemidji or Itasca to camp!

Uhh, yes. I can camp at a lake, catch walleyes, and swim all day long 37 miles from Fargo. I'd say Bemidji(130mi or so with the "shortcut") is pretty far. Plus, you get to drive through the reservation.

Well good for you, so can I, but its not the same. Itaska is a beautiful place.

How is it not the same? And its Itasca, atleast spell it right if you're going to get a boner over it.

Its way nicer up there than Maplewood. Its like saying ya I can go snowboarding at andys mountian, or in Colorado.

i usually end up going to Indian creek near mobridge sd, that maybe be a little bit further than what you want to drive, but they have GREAT walleye fishing and you can get in easily if you have a motor coach, we maneuver just fine with our 42ft Monaco Diplomat.

if you want a small weekend, glendalo (not sure of spelling) state park by battle lake is nice and pretty cheap and easy to get into. it's alittle over an hour out of fargo down I-94

camped there for scouts once, it was a nice place...

Stayed at Itasca last week which was fucking awesome! Floated the ottertail for my first time on the 3rd and then went on the 4th which was fun as hell. Now i think we are headed to GF
