          That's funny over 30k lol.

The 6.0 has a couple of issues but nothing some aftermarket parts, read ARP head studs and an EGR delete kit, can't solve. I won't argue against the 7.3 tho, its a good motor. But the 6.0 gets better mileage, produces less emissions, and can make just as much, if not, more power because of its higher RPM potential.

            this thread made my day

If you have a 6.0 do NOT run it out of fuel..... especially the early trucks......... or you better have $2500 sitting there for new injectors

Seriously they have some problems for sure, but there are a lot of them out there being built, raced, and making tons of power. Then there are ones like my brother's, just a work truck with a programmer and he hasn't had any issues through about 50,000 miles.

My advice is to just not buy injectors from Ford 😉 They got what they deserved when they attempted to screw over navistar.

What do you mean by tons of power? Intake, 4inch turbo back and a chip?

In the last Diesel Power I read through there was one on the dyno that made 1100+ pounds of torque and another that was only 800 but was having trans trouble. More mods than I can remember but 6.0's nonetheless. In the race section there was 2 fighting for top Ford honors in Tennessee or something that were running 11's IIRC. Unless this issue was special those can't be the only examples. It also had an article that explained in detail the common 6.0 issues, their causes and remedies from some guy that builds them into monsters like the ones above.

                      yawn.....50k miles

my 12v cummins has 220k and has been fueling hard for the last 100k since i have had it... 40-45psi no issues

runs like new, minimal blow-by, no oil consumption, and would put money on it to walk all over your brothers 6.0............. and do the same at 350k miles

1000 foot pounds in anything is a lot, just because there are a lot of diesels that make that much doesn't make it any less significant. I'm not advocating the 6.0 > all point of view here just trying to explain that there not junk, they just got a bad rap from a couple of problems. Expensive problems to be sure but not really serious. My brothers has much more than 50k on it just that's what he has put on it since I put the bully dog in it for him almost three years ago.

I have driven many vehicles with 1000+ ft/lbs.

Zbrown probably knows more about diesels then 99% of the people on this website.

                                          PM me for:
                                          Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
                                          Diesel repairs or performance products.
