Im a little confused, are you just talking about the NT55R because it is in fact bad ass (which it is) or you thinking I was talking about the NT55R.
Because i was talking aobut the NT05R

thats great for the guys with the big rims, but the only reason the nitto 555r was any good before was because it was the only "streetable" sticky tire out there. Anyone who has driven big BFGs or MTs in the rain knows that they are terrible off the dragstrip. So this tire is worthless to everyone but the big power guys that want a 18" rim

Chargers/Challengers/Camaro/Mustangs all come 18"+. This isn't a big deal to the old school folks (most of us), but in the bigger picture, this is a great option for those with big brakes or using factory wheels for the strip.

BUT, look at the picture, they have created another drag radial that will be impossible to drive in the rain since it has almost 0 tread. They would have been smart to upsize their current treaded 555R with a small update. Even if i had 18" rims i wouldnt want that tire as its so easy to hydorplane with them

If a particular customer likes to drive on the street with drag radials, then they would be wise to look at the 555R's. From a business standpoint, I can only imagine Nitto as a company would laugh at someone that would bring up "it would suck in the rain" I think the design of the NT05R is more concerned with created a better Drag Radial for the drag strip, than a Street/Drag Radial...especially when they already have that in the 555R, which continues to add more sizes.
