They would have been smart to upsize their current treaded 555R with a small update. Even if i had 18" rims i wouldnt want that tire as its so easy to hydorplane with them

Even if i had 18" rims i wouldnt want that tire as its so easy to hydorplane with themI see what you are saying, but people that would be interested in the NT05R, would be looking for more contact patch vs. how a drag radial will do in adverse (see: not drag strip racing) conditions. If a particular customer likes to drive on the street with drag radials, then they would be wise to look at the 555R's. From a business standpoint, I can only imagine Nitto as a company would laugh at someone that would bring up "it would suck in the rain" I think the design of the NT05R is more concerned with created a better Drag Radial for the drag strip, than a Street/Drag Radial...especially when they already have that in the 555R, which continues to add more sizes.
