If you have overland flooding, flooding in your backyard, have a good shot of the river, post them up....

Nothing to worry about out in your neck of the woods... Just wait til it starts getting higher and higher, then walk to the diversion and look then you will get some nice overland flooding... or at least year it looked like a huge lake out the back of my house

Not NEARLY as bad as last year at this juncture. Most of the volume of snow is completely gone and already water. Last year there were white caps breaking in the wind surround the interstate. This year I see muddy fields, with pools of water, and a ditch that's flowing pretty well.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

So that's at only 31'. wow. When I drove through out there last summer I thought it looked like the river was further down than that.

That is what the river is under normal conditions.

All the homes originally had septic systems. After the sewer came through they connected the line to a small lift station to a force-main. Most of the manholes are under water and are taking on too much water so the pumps won't keep up.

Can you tell me a little bit more about your house-sized fort? I don't want to go to your blog. I'm just wondering what the rationale is here. Does this stay up year round from now on? What makes a water-tight seal here?
