Really? Is the quarter of a mile a different distance at a drag strip?
And are you doubting it can run in the low 11s at around 125?

LOL, are you really arguing what I think you are arguing?

And yes there is a big difference between what something "can" run and what it does run

My Gtech says I run 8's on the street, awesome huh?

Well your Gtech is F'd up then. And it doesn't use GPS. My Vbox does. And yes it will run in the low 11s over and over and over again.

Yeah you are if you make nonsense comments about the transmission without knowing a freakin thing about it.
And how is it bench racing when I hammered on the car repeatedly a quarter of a mile at time? Really. If you think the meters are wrong have at it (they're not BTW).
Because I didn't have the advantage of a rubberized surface doesn't change the fact that the car ran in the low 11s over a quarter of a mile for me.
Your problem is that you are a snob. Repeat: a quarter of a mile is a quarter of a mile regardless of where it is.

There is an easy fix for this.... Take it to a tintmasters street legal day and see what it really runs. I'm sure you will love all of the attention from the ricers anyways.

The attention this car draws borders on creepy.

                                    Very nice car, perfect color!!!

I fell in love with GT-R's ever since the the first Gran Turismo came out. I'm sure it's very quick, the VBOX looks like a legit product, but it would be interesting to run it down a real quarter for comparison sakes. Again, amazing car, I'm sure the amount of attention it gets is ridiculous!!!

I am baffled as to why there is even any question about the numbers.

                                      1. They doubt the GTR can move that quickly?
                                      2. They believe a quarter mile is only real at a drag strip?

I came in here just to share my experience about the car I bought, not to getting in a stupid semantics pissing contest.
My new GTR is an amazing performer. The times I came up with were replicated repeatedly and the VBox I have is very accurate.
Go to any review or video of the GTR and you'll see they come up with very similiar results. Take my personal favorite review site, Edmunds Insideline*:
                                      http://www.insideline.com/nissan/gt-r/2012/2012-nissan-gt-r-full-test-and-video.html
*I like Edmunds because unlike a lot of car rags they actually use dead stop acceleration numbers when measuring from zero. And their results seem to line up with what I am getting in the real world.

You know why the GTR is amazing car? Because the performance numbers are easily produced and duplicated. That is a rare thing with performance cars. And it is also why some people don't like the vehicle. They think its too easy and takes no skill.

Now if any of you doubt the performance of the car drop me a PM and I'll let you drive the thing. Especially you doubters.

I'm not doubting anything on the car, I know its an easy 11 second car. And your results seem to be accurate with what I have seen in magazines for performance results. However, I would still love to look at it up close and in person and see it make a couple passes at a drag strip. I don't need to drive it, I would be happy with a ride in the car, driving it would be awesome.

Do you know what they did in the new GTR, to solve the old GTRs transmission failures?

                                        PM me for:

The tranny problems were overblown. They were mainly due to abuse. The problem was that the transmission cost $20k. So when people repeatedly launched the thing and it blew up it was a spendy problem and turned a bitched at Nissan. Nissan got sick of this removed the LC on the 2010 and 2011.
They reintroduced it on the 2012. It has a bunch of monitors and won't let you launch the car if transmission oil temp. is too high. Once the temp falls back into an acceptable range it can be launched again.
