If you want a taste for powder coating without spending a lot of money you should hit up Harbor Freight, they sell a paint kit and powder that's pretty cheap, and then find a cheap/free oven to do small parts in.
You can get into some pretty spendy guns, $1000-$2000+, but it all depends on what level you want to take it to.You could also try talking to the guys over at Diamond-Vogel on main, we used to get all our powder paint there, they might be able to point you in the right direction or at least to somebody that knows were to get guns in Fargo or Moorhead.
