I need to retract/edit the insurance statement. You do not NEED insurance to race, however if anything happens to the vehicle the tracks insurance WILL NOT cover it.Any thought to doing a yearly tech inspection like Thundervalley does?

Only thing I have against a yearly tech inspection is that so much can be changed from one race to the next and in all honesty, its my butt on the line if a car is running with unsafe equipment and crashes.

That is a big draw back of the yearly tech. Even on one weekend I seen a car tech in on Saturday sporting a 350 running 12.30 or so on sunday (still running same tech card) had a big block running in the nines. No roll bar or any thing. He did not get many passes before they cought on but could have been very uggly.
So my stocker has no insurance no mufflers and permenent numbers (they could be gone if need be) on the window. Other than that it is factory stock looking. Clean paint not all decalled up. Would it be allowed? Basically I have a all new combination and need to try and check it out before the S/SS weekend and I have a limited time to make it out to a regular race.

Pay for number & get yearly tech sticker. Car X is allowed to run 11.50s. Car X runs 11.49 or faster without being re-tech'd pull them off to the side and see if their shit is in order and if not, send them on the way.
I think the cases of 'abuse' would be a lot fewer than you think and it would really speed up things like the TM days.

Yes, you would be fine.

Possibly, with the amount of in depth info needed for a ETI each car takes approximately 10-15 minutes and for most cars it wouldn't be needed.
If I did our own form of ETI which would be more fitting to the regular car that shows up to TM days and had our own stickers I don't think it would speed much up. For the most part (other then the faster cars) tech can move rather quickly and there isn't that much to check, however even if we a yearly sticker, I still need to check every car for said sticker, plus an updated tech card for the tower, plus sign the wavier. So realistically every car still needs to come to the tech line to do all that stuff which as he/she is doing that, I can look over the car and will know exactly the stat of the car and can point out any potential issues/problems.

Is there a tech checklist anywhere online?

well, unless you're running with a convertible car the rules are pretty easy to meet until 11.5.
If you're running slicks you need wheel studs that extend into the head of the lug nut a distance at least that of the diameter of the stud. Driveshaft loop with slicks (where applicable obviously).
Remote mount batteries need to have a marked cutoff switch that kills power to the entire vehicle.
Helmets are always a good idea. (is the helmet cutoff 11.49 or 13.99, I forget)NHRA rulebook as of a couple years ago says that the driver of any car running non-factory forced induction has to have a SFI approved fire jacket. Chuck, are you going to be watching this one at all this year? I know ISD and BIR haven't been enforcing it in the past (I don't care either way, I picked up a jacket last year)

If its in the rules it will be inforced. For situations were the driver is not aware of a rule (depending on the rule and how badly its violated) they will be informed of the infraction but allowed to race (again only if a minor infraction such as not the proper jacket), but will not be allowed to race at another event until the problem is corrected.

Yes it does.
BTW here is a page I added with a quick ET and MPH requirements, remember this is a generalization, please see the rule book for exact requirments and regulations.
