What size tires will fit on 17x7 rims with a +40 offset.... Will 225/55/17 fit?

Some 2 cents would be great. Hahaha

Yes that tire will easily fit that width of a wheel. Offset itself has no bearing on tire fitment. Offset in combination of overall tire diameter could have an effect on actual VEHICLE fitment though. What exactly are you trying to make fit on what vehicle?

well for starters you need to figure out what the 4 and 5 lug patterns are.
at +40 offset they'd probably fit but in my opinion it'll look horrible.

+40 offset means that the mounting surface of the wheel is 40mm (towards the front of the wheel) from the center line of the wheel.

a quick check on American Muscle - the 17x8 wheels are +30mm offset so basically look at a picture of one of those and then suck the face of the wheel in another half inch.

As for bolt pattern - should be 5x4.5" or 5x114.3mm. If it's anything but that, do not use them. There is at least one bolt pattern that is close and the wheel will slide on but it won't bolt down correctly.

I looked up the bolt pattern for a 2011 sorento and its the only rear with a 5x4.5 so I should be good
