The Playtime Performance Quick 8 races will continue for the 2012 season. We will hold a Quick 8 at each of the Tintmasters Motorsports Street Legal Races.

We will have payouts of $100 for first place, and $50 for second place.

We will have one BIG MONEY Quick 8, where the winner will take home $1,000!

Here are the latest rule revisions for the Quick 8 races. These are subject to change:

    1. In addition to passing NHRA tech inspection, entrants must pass Quick 8 tech inspection as well.

    2. All elimination rounds will be run heads up, with a .400 pro tree.

    3. Tire Size:
-AWD and FWD vehicles can run any size tire
-For RWD vehicles, any size drag radial accepted (must have factory DOT markings on tire).
-For RWD vehicles, DOT slicks (must have factory DOT markings on tire) may be no bigger than 30" x 13.50" (To clarify, tire height may not be taller than 30" and/or width may be not be wider than 13.5").
-For RWD vehicles, full slicks may be no bigger than 29.5" x 10.5" (no 'W' tires)(To clarify, tire height may not be taller than 29.5" and/or width may be no wider than 10.5").

    4. Wheel Tubs: Must have stock front and rear frame rails, factory location firewall and factory floors. Inner surface of frame rail must remain un-modified, and in stock location. (Tires must remain inside wheel well). NO backhalf cars allowed. NO tube chassis cars allowed.

    5. No wheelie bars.

    6. Any motor/forced induction combination allowed.

    7. Any fuel allowed.

    8. Mufflers required, except on turbo entry.

    9. There are no weight breaks.

    10. Transmissions: Any factory style transmission allowed.

    11. Rear suspension: Stock type rear suspension ONLY. Coil-over shocks allowed.

    12. Body: Hoods required. Aftermarket body parts limited to: Front/rear bumper covers, hood, decklid/trunk, front fenders. Aftermarket wings/spoilers allowed.

    13. Functional headlights, taillights and brake lights required. One headlight may be removed for air induction purposes.

    14. Entrants must drive their vehicle back to the pits under its own power after a pass. Tow backs are allowed for legitimate breakage.

    15. Safety Equipment: All entrants will have their ET's limited to what they, and their car, are NHRA legal to. If you run a 9.80, but your safety equipment is only legal to 10.00, you will be disqualified. Each entrant is responsible for having proper roll cage, fire jackets/suits, etc., for what they run. Each entrant is also required to have all proper NHRA competition licenses.

Cool set of rules. Makes me want to get a car with stock rear suspension again. 🙂

-EricGood point... Going faster than 13.xx in my car would be expensive and/or compromise driveability & reliability, not interested...

There is a guy in Minot that runs his torque arm Fbody in the 5.60's with stock style suspension. So wwhy not make what you have work. No 4 link needed to go super fast. Just my 2cents Do what you want. Good luck.

The rules above say yes if its dot, no if its not. 🙂
