Lots of people have ran Taurus fans over the years with great results.

However, I kinda doubt you will have any noticeable "gains" buy doing this on most vehicles.

    Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
    Diesel repairs or performance products.

You won't notice ANY gains unless the new fan moves air more efficiently. The power to drive them has to come from somewhere.

          Any dyno proof of this?

Raider is one of the few people I will take at his word on this. It does make sense though, with a fan clutch and fan the blades are ALWAYS spinning, sometimes more aggressively than others but still always a load on the system to some degree. Electrics kick in and out more efficiently and only come on when needed. I can easily see that being up to 12HP.

12hp is equivalent to 9000 watts.

Yep, as long as the fans aren't running when you do your dyno pull, there is no extra load caused by the electrical drain of the fans.

Do you guys have any sense of how much 12hp is? Especially when we are talking about a little fan! If that fan was replaced with a similar electric fan, that fan would be drawing 750 AMPS! SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY! AMPS! Either that fan was completely seized or he was lying. This is common sense people.

I'm not arguing the gain in HP but I just want to see where the gains came from in the power band. Getting rid of the clutch fan also get's rid of the annoying whoosh under the hood it creates.

Nope, Dave and his 7.77 second 1/4 mile supra have no idea what 12hp is. Do you understand what rotating mass is? Let's say the standard fan clutch and fan weigh in at 5 pounds for conversation sake. Just by eliminating them you would free up some horsepower... ok, now let's add in the resistance of those blades as they are pushing air through the radiator. That rotating mass has probably gone from the 5 lbs that the parts weigh to over 100 lbs of resistance that has to be spun by the engine itself... add a 100 lbs weight to your crankshaft pulley and see if your car performs better or worse.

Hmmm... started looking up weights (just to see how close I was) and the fan clutch itself weighs in at 4.6 lbs. The fan weighs in at 4.2 lbs as well. By themselves the 8.8 pounds is quite a bit, though not 12hp by itself. See post above for rest of explanation.

The above was done on an RX-7 everything else was stock except they eliminated the fan clutch and fan and added an electric fan.

Yes I know what rotating mass is. NEVER would have guessed that they weigh close to 10lbs though. Shit, that's like spinning an extra wheel.
