My friend has a 96 Stratus 5spd w/ 2.0 engine. She was having troubles with it and took it to a mechanic to find that it is overcharging (about 17volts).

The voltage regulator is held within the ECM. So they figure it is the ECM that is bad and needs to be replaced.

Can anyone confirm this? and also, there is a firm suspension and w/ out firm suspension ECU. Does anyone know the difference and what happens if i use the wrong one?

    thanks

Sounds right. My Mazda does the same trick and I've heard it would require a ECM replacement to fix such an issue.

probably the same idiot that put the battery in the bumper of the stratus.

now i know why i like working on honda's and despise anything american.
