With those 2 options, definately go turbo on the d series.

b-series swaps are so fucking overpriced. 2-3k for fucking 160-180hp, wtf.

Another option I would opt for would be maybe a 50 shot of nitrous, cheap and easy. Plus I would think the motor could handle that with no issues as its a small shot.

You make a very good point. The IC piping my "crew" will be doing, but as for installing the rods and what not I will need to pay some one, and it will not be cheep.

I know i'd boost it. You can easily have a reliable boosted SOHC Honda. D16A6 is a strong motor. For $2000-2500 you could have a lot nicer kit than what you have listed there and reliably make 200whp.

        Swaps are overpriced, and overated.

I have a complete D16A6 if you wanted something to start a build on. I'd sell for a decent price.

imho turbo is gonna make it less reliable. a b series is gonna be more reliable then any turbo engine.

I'm a huge fan of the d-series turbo. Such great potential with excellent gas mileage. Who needs VTEC? Besides, then you get the joy of boost...the sound of the spool and BOV....I vote turbo.

VTEC + boost = more power than boost w/out VTEC. 🙂

              Gas mileage? I got 33 mpg w/ 720cc injectors and a b series. 😉

IMHO if you only want 160 whp do the swap. Down the road you can turbo it and make 300+ whp on a stock block. 😉

Cheap isn't exactly a bowl of chili. A swap is quite spendy and it all depends on who wants to rape you for the labor cost. YOU KNOW!!!!

I'd say definitely turbo it.... you will never find a b18c1 swap for 2000-2500 anywhere, and the b16 is a waste of money imo. turbo it, turbo it, turbo it....

Yes for most things my "crew" does our own work.

Speaking of we fixed a double wish bone suspension on a 1992 JDM swaped Prelude yesterday. The only reason I bring this up is becuse Tires Plus told us that it was un-fixable, and that we would have to bring it to a suspension specialist. Teaches Tone to go to Tires Plus.

Yep we can do a swap, even got a cherry picker.

This is what has been decided.

I'm going to turbo it, and run a nice small amout of boost.

                            Thanks for all the advice!
