Wont start
-
Posted this on Tintmasters, but i figured ide post here too.
So I was out cruising 2 or 3 weeks ago, and all of the sudden my car started to act funny. I parked it, and when i came back 1/2 hour it wouldn't start. I check for spark and fuel, had both.
SO I towed it back, while hooking up my tie-downs on my trailer, i noticed that my turbo was VERY loose on my manifold. i haven't done anything with it, but I would like to know what is wrong with it before I dig into it. Could it be that since my turbo is literally hanging on my manifold, that it doesn't spool, therefore not giving me any air? THis is the only solution that I could come up with. If the turbo isn't spinning at all, is it getting any air? -
how do you think n/a motors start without a turbo...its magic. does it even crank?

Yes, it sputters and wants to start. it turnos over and dies as soon as I let off the cranking switch. If it helps I tried various different positions with the throttle too, but it doesnt seem like stepping on the gas makes any difference. -

Cool you sold the car, but as for the throttle part, every vehicle is different. MOST newer vehicles will kill the inj. pulse when you hold the pedal at full throttle. Older fuel inj. vehicles will flood the car. It is highly recommended not to touch the gas on any vehicle unless it is carburated. Or unless you know what you are doing.

I've taken 2 electronic/engine performance(with a month or so of fuel pumps/filters/etc) classes at my HS. I knew what was doing. -
I'm not saying that you may not know what you are doing....Im just telling what my knowledge is based on....Im a master certified auto technician, and I stated the rule of thumb for those who dont know what they are doing.....im not trying to do a pecker measuring contest here either.
