i mentioned that just as a point of reference for how much more potent the b series is over the d.
if you are serious about the b series swap, do some indepth looking, it will cost you a lot more than boosting your stock engine. not trying to steer you away from it, but it isn't cheap. personally, IF i were going to swap anything into a civic, i would find a b18c1 and leave it stock. when it comes timeto upgrade, intake, exhaust and cams will help a lot, and then n2o on top of it all will make you very quick. honda-tech has a lot of info about this stuff

i know its not going to be cheap. i am leaning towards the b16a2 and that after everything(lsd tranny, Hasport mounts, ect) is $3100. that isnt including install. anyways, like i said, this is a long term project and a b-series ha alot more potential in the long run than a d-series. plus i dont really want to boost.

you know...everybody is telling you to go b18 because they make good torque and better powercurve than a b16...you even admitted to it...so why are you still considering a b16? that, and a b18a can be had for a fairly cheap price ($500ish i think...) a 93 one has 140hp, not bad considering its half what a b16 costs...then, you can put a b16 head on the LS...and be basically at the price of a b16 itself, but have LS/VTEC...im not a honda guy, so dont quote me, but does this sound reasonable honda ppl?

a complete b18a swap is only $50 less than a b16 swap and no vtec. I no that an ls/vtec is an awsome swap.

complete swap prices, ecu, axles, tranny, mounts, harnesses, ect. are only $50 differant. go to hmotorsonline.com and look.

btw, i would like to find a JDM motor due to the lower miles usually and the higher power and compression numbers.

I don't know where you're going to find a b16 for a 1000 or a b18a for 500 to be completely honost. it's a hell of a deal if you do. you know what do what you want to do, cause you're just going to change your mind next week anyways.

why does it matter if you get a jdm motor or not if you are just going to build it? i dont care what that site says...go find a junked, but good running LS integra for $500ish...it can be done, and there, you got most of what you need

You need to realize what you need to even do the swap to start off with.

                        1. B16 swap for 92-95 civic requires hydro transmission. Minimum motor price around $2200 w/ trans. $2500 with LSD.
                        2. Car does not require ANY aftermarket mounts.
                        3. Car requires 94-up Integra axles.
                        4. Car requires 94-up Integra shift linkages.

                        And B16s fucking suck anyways.

torbs, i agree with blake on this one (EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT I AM GOING TO CHANGE MY MIND), if you can find me a b16a2 or a b18b for that cheap, with everything need to do the swap, and it has only about 35,000 miles on it, let me know ASAP. Honestly you dont think im goint to buy a b-series, put it on an engine stand, and build it this year do you? if you do you are way off. I dont plan on doing internals for a while if i even do them. Plus you get a 100% start up garantee if you order one from a respected sight over getting a junked vehicle. Plus you dont know the tru condition of a junked motor, it could have a cracked block. now do you get where im coming from?

I would do it, but i cant find any either. and i am NOT buying on off of ebay. Plus it has to be in great shape mechanical wise. I have found a couple that are just a longblock and need rebuilding. I dont want one of those.
