well, i did have an additional 600lbs of passengers and cargo. the o2 sensor shouldn't mean much at low speeds, especially when cruising, wouldn't it be in closed loop operation?
no o2 sensor means you are always running in open loop. the computer richens it up so u dont run hardcore lean and fuck something up. -
i just did a little more reading, i was always under the impression that closed loop meant that the ecu would use a set amount of fuel based on temperature and rpm (hence the "closed," ignores any sensors). whereas open loop utilizes all the sensors to maintain proper operation. but... apparently the o2 use is the opposite of what i'd thought.
thanks joel, i'd never really bothered educating myself in this particular material -
We don't need no stinking o2 sensors.

Think of it as an open (or closed) circuit. Open circuit=no current flow. closed circuit..well you get the idea. I wouldn't know this, but Mr. Miller, my auto teacher, pounded this into our heads because some idiot in my class slept through o2 sensors. he got hit with a yardstick! -
yeah....that didn't happen, wasn't a great weekend to do it anyway (go to minot anyways...state fair and what not) I still like the idea of doing this sometime and/or cruising around MN. Maybe later this year or early next year would be better.
