I think it is time that a bunch of us send letters to Lutheran Social Services asking them why in the hell they just dump a bunch of immigrants off in this country with no plan for them to make anything of themselves. I'm all for coming to this country as an opportunity for a better life.....so long as you work towards having a better life. My plan: Give them 6 months to find a job and start weening them off the system. If they can't make it after 6 months, cut their welfare in half but send them to a 2 year school in which they'd be required to maintain a C or better average. If for any 2 semesters they fail to attain the C average they get deported.

And for the record, I have nothing against any race, it just bugs me when they abuse the system. Like ichibahnkilla said, I'm only a 3rd generation american, my grandparents/great grandparents came here from Germany/Russia in the early 1900's....they didn't get a whole lot of help, just directions on how to get to ND from NY...

There were a couple of somolians that went to FFCC and I had one as a roommate. He wasn't that bad compared to my roomies last year. One of the somolians had a 99+ Tahoe sitting on 20+ rims. Jeez how can a college student pay for that w/o a job?

IMHO, we should be questioning our fearless government's grant system. People make it their careers to get these grants. These grants are awarded to 'causes' that promote the greater good and whatnot... While this is all fine and good, I think the people that get these grants are more concerned with their cut of the money rather than than the whole point of the grant in the first place. They run a poorly managed operation and hire a shit staff. I mean when you are keeping your headcount costs to a minimum, you don't want to pay more than absolutely necessary. So you end up with overworked or unexperienced case workers, poorly developed or nonexistant start-up programs and a pile of immigrants that could be better contributors but aren't.
If you ever read a proposal that was granted an award, try to find mention of the people-management proficiencies and employee health index surveys. I'm sure there are some truely good programs and people getting these grants, but there are way too many that get them and have no business getting a dime.
Not taking away from the really, REALLY dangerous manuvering that I see just about once a week on the roads and highways... because I see that shit and it takes everything I have not to try to inflict some vigilante justice.

from what I've herd, is that, their housing is paid for, and their food, but as far as the cars go, they gotta pay for them theirselves.... I dont know if it's totally true, but thats what I was told. Whats worse, is when they think they are better then us, and they pretty much think that we are always all cool with them even though we've bitched at them how many times or screwing around the parking lots when we are all hangin out there....
But what I do find annoying is when you go to a restraunt and you get them sitting next to you, this goes for alot of people, when they talk in their own language, I mean, yea ok, you can speak it in your own home, but I find it disrespectful when they do it in public ALL the time. this is america now... how are we supposed to know if they're bashing us or not when they talk in their own language? -
They don't get anything paid for per say. I worked with one at Custom, and Jason is a faggot that can suck the fattest balls in the world BTW. The bosnians actually just get a grant from the us, that they do have to pay back. They also get money from their government. It's pretty gay, we should take care of our own people first, not some worthless bosnians that don't give a shyt about the U.S.

The "nice" cars they have are generally bought for 2K at as-is shit lots. The few that are nice cars are paid for just like dave payed for his, or thompson for his, or any other "nice" car for that matter: WORKING FOR THE MONEY!
This country was founded on diversity, by a bunch of guys that were sick of conforming, but nowadays we expect all of the immigrants to conform to our standards. Why? So we can strip their freedoms and individuality that they left war torn countries (generally because of us) to get away from.

I'm sorry if they can't find high paying jobs when they come here, but that begs the question: Why come then? If none of them can find good jobs why do they come here, why do they tell their friends/family to come here? I'll give you a hint, its not the weather. You call me ignorant, but have you lived around them? I have, in N Fargo and S Fargo. There are some good ones, no doubt, there always is but there are plenty that I've met personally that give the others a bad name.
As for the language they speak, as its been said before, when you move to a country you should learn the language of that country if you plan on staying there for a period of time, I'm not saying give up your old language entirely, just speak the language of your country when you are around other countrymen. Think about it, if we were in a group of Bosnians and a bunch of us grouped together and started talking German/Norwegian/Chinese/Japanese/whatever and started laughing, don't you think they would think we're talking about them? Guess what, it happens every time I'm in a lot with them. Also, like I said above, my ancestors spoke German when they initially came here from German/Russia. They LEARNED THE LANGUAGE. Yes, my grandparents could/can still speak German, but they don't do it in public. They learned that they needed to let go of their native tongue to fit in in this foreign (to them) land. Apparently it worked pretty well for them.
The key to learning to make a living is learning to adapt to the needs of a job market. Part of those needs are being able to speak the language of your supervisor/customers. This is not being racist, this is just a fact.
The difference between immigration today and immigration 100 years ago is simple: 100 years ago people came her to START a better life for them and their families, today they come here to GET a better life (all nationalities fall under this).
