I agree most mods are illegal, Leaded Race Gas, Slicks, No Convertors, Loud Assed Exhaust and so on. Well the only thing I dont have is the convertor otherwise my exhaust is not obnoxiously asking for a ticket. I run pump gas and treaded tires. I also dont have all the bling such as body kits and neon lights attracting a shit load of attention to my car. Everyone does this stuff to there cars so everyoe looks at there car, well guess what the police are people to and they will tend to notice all that crap. I see a lot of cockiness in the import crowd and some almost have a smug attitude towards others. Well you wanted the attention now you got it. The police dotn just decide on stuff like this. After the police get numorous complaints on stuff they crack down on it. Hence the party patrol, now its the import cars and cycles. I have a import car and will be grouped in with the rest of ya however I am not weaving through traffic and running reds and being disrespectful on the roads. I dont have a loud ass stereo thumping while I am driving through neighborhoods or loud ass fart canned exhaust. As far as the guys who make a living off this stuff and are worried about there business just set a good example for these younger guys. They will do what you do. Also if you see a fellow tuner or even a ricer driving around disrespectfully dont be scared to do a on the spot correction. If they dont like what you have to say then say fine I will turn your ass in myself if I see you doing that again. We can either police ourselves or someone else will do it for us. If you search the police website you will see all the complaints they have been getting on this stuff. They have to do somthing and there is more complaints then there is of us. So we can holla all we want but the fact is they will look at us, our cars, the stereos some of us have and we will be pre judged and lose. The citizens of Fargo are sick of this shit. We can just clean up our act, and behave in town. There is plenty of places to go have fun outside of town. The thing is everyone wants everyone to see em showing off on 13th ot 25th. The funny thing is most of the showoffs have gutless rice mobiles or are Bosnians who just dont know how to drive. Its sad but not everyone is into cars or bikes. The majority of the population does not care about cars or how fast they are or how good they look. Those people are the ones who are sick of it and they out number us. Sorry guys majority rules. The cops are gonna listen to these people not us. I believe most of us are not the cause of htis. It is the ricer APC crowd. Well tkae care guys my rant is done

I'm going to start an area for posts of if you got a ticket I think it would be a good Idea to only put tickets in the area.

Muscle cars (usually) arent known for their loud raspy "riceish" exhaust noise, they generally have more low or growlish exhuast. I guess you can't really say muscle cars have nothing to do with it because they probably have complaints on them as well, but take an unbaised look at it and ask yourself which you notice more, a car that growls whenever you get on it and is otherwise within decent noise-range or one that sounds like a fart can no matter how modrate you drive it? Most of the idiots causing the bad rep are cheap asses who cant afford anything other than a civic or other cheap car and throw on a can to make themselves feel cool.
As its been stated time and time again though, those of us who spend decent money on our cars and dont drive like total jackasses are the ones who are screwed because of those idiots who think their completly stock civic/mustang/dsm/whatever are cool with fartcans/decals/systems and therefore have the right to drive like the rules dont apply to them.
What im saying is yes muscle cars should be held to the same standards but honestly i think more people are annoyed by the cans than they are by the growl.

Well, when the fix-it tickets include custom rims that'll be the last staw. What it comes down to is the old grumpy bastards with the money and the influence that are doiong this shit. They have no clue as what the tuner scene is about and they only use the bad examples of the culture to make all there decisions, it doesn't help to try to explain anything to them either because, you know, the younger crowd doesn't know shit, all we do is party and fuck around. It seems to be OK for a musclecar to cruise around with purple dots on there taillights, which is obviously illegal, but having a wing or can on your car is more than probable cause to get pulled over. It's the narrow minded old-timer redneck mentallity that is the biggest problem. And if tickets are left up to the officers discretion then they'll be writing $120 tickets all the time, there won't be warning tickets.

i can think of more then a couple pickups/muscle cars that have a low "growl" that is sometimes a lot more annoying then some fart cans. also, i can think of plenty of pick ups/ muscle cars that weave traffic and rev there engines and act like retards also. this is straight up profiling that is all it is.

here's an interesting thought, with all the money they'll be generating off of us with these tickets can we demand that they find all the stuff that gets stolen out of our cars too. since we will be generating alot of money for the PD. might be a card to play.

i am impressed with the civilness of this thread.
as for muscle, trucks and harleys with their loud exhaust...
harleys are damn loud. trucks typically are not as low a growl as the muscle, but even muscle can be loud if they run em more then a couple hundred feet and start to get some revs in it.policing ourselves is a great idea, but even the best of us run into a situation or are having a bad day where a button got pushed and well you drive a little more aggressive than you should, or you turn the tunes up more than you should or in places that you should not be at hours you should not be...

the fact of the matter is this... despite how exhausts sound, whether it is a mustang or a civic with a fart can... they should be policed the same. I don't care how deep of a growl a v6 mustang has... why should it be any different. And why do we need to hate on people with civics with a fart can? to some people that is all that they can afford. I don't think that we should hate on them because they have an interest in cars, and modifying them. there was a point in my life where all I could afford was a civic, with some light mods... i.e. a cf hood, gsr wheels, a "fart can" with 2 1/4 piping. Do we not realize as a whole that the type of car should not matter. it's the same discrimination as profiling other races, and if domestic people are going to be childish and say they have NO part in it. they're just cheating themselves, and the car crowd as a whole. if you are going to get involved you have a responsibility to fess up to errors, and to do things to help the scene progress.
