Wow, didnt know my car was famous, lol neat

dont worry, i am expecting to be buying tires alot and brakes. and my car isnt really going to be a "street car". My motor should hold up seeing how it is being assembled as we speak. I get to drop the pistons in it tomorrow and will hopefully have it running next week. Brakes, suspension, tires, clutch, and safety are getting upgraded this winter.
also how are you part of that club if oyu dont own a porsche?

There was talk of BIR being closed for 2006, but It looks like it will still be open.Mike
the drag strip portion will be open at least (for the next 5 or 6 years).. not sure if they're going to keep running track events or not though. I've heard complaints that the track surface really isn't up to par.
For the last 2 years I've wanted to run PDE with Donnybrook/MNFbody, but haven't done it (last year it was at MAM.... too far to drive with the possibility of breaking AND the $220 admission)...
and then I'm not too confident in some parts on my car above the 100MPH mark (I've run 120+ fine before, but not for any period of time)...one of these years (depending what I"m driving)

How fast would topping out be. Like what would the top speed on the long staights DAVE H is talking about?

Brainerd straight is just under a mile.. should be able to hold a little bit of speed out of 10 (pretty well banked) and turn 1 can be taken fairly fast (I hear one of the TCStangs guys in his track prepped 95 Cobra R runs through that at WOT, which has to be close to 150)....
so if you have enough power to get to your top speed in that time...it'll depend what your top speed is.I've got videos around here of IIRC an impala running up over 140.. don't remember what the F-bodies did in the videos I have...
that's the thing that scares me about the longer courses. You make a mistake on Brainerd and it's going to be a big mistake.

Ic. Well i was just talking like in general if your car can go like 250 or something a little more realistic for street car can you top out. So according what you said i am going to guess most street driven cars can be topped out.

ok as far as autocrossin in the area next year there is a meeting this weekend that all the dates will be finalized. I love autocrossing. It is a rush plus it is alot easier on your car than road racing. if you want to road race i know that boys up in canada race offten during the summer.
http://wscc.wpg-autox.org/ that is the winapeg sports car club website. Those guys are cool and very friendly. As for autocross events i am sure that after the meeting this weekend the events will be posted.
