brownbread is good stuff, Vblock makes some nice stuff as well...no stench as it is not asphalt based. I can also get fairly easily the products on this page: http://www.theinstallbay.com/product_section.php?pn=22

Prices are anywhere from $6 to $100, depending on which kit you go with.

Not sure if it works but I have heard of people using the truck bed liner crap(cant member the name of it) or that foam that puffs up and gets hard(I know people have sprayed this in cracks and panels)

the spray in bed liner doesnt stop much of the rattling at least thats what ive been told. Ive heard spot welding works rather nicely though..

on my old grand prix i used expanding foam on the trunk and other spots were there was metal close together. but you have to hatk your time and do it right esspecially where it is visable. the stuff is ugly

                  I have used the following:

Brownbread: works the best IMO but stinks, also melts in the summer.
Cascade VB2: thin, works about as good as the brownbread, doesn't stink
B-quiet liquid: visoelastic sound deadener, has to be painted on in several layers with a long dry time between each, but is great for inner trunk panels, inside doors, wierd surfaces, etc.
Dynamat Extreme: the old standby, works well. expensive though. you can get more for less. you are paying for the brand name
Hitemp Mastic: 'Roofing stuff' god no. stinks like cat piss. alot. always. forever.

how much would a person need for an entire car?

http://www.raamaudio.com/ looking around I have found this site too.. seems to be different than tar-style. I think I might give this stuff a go.

                        no race car? becuz homeowner...

i've used brownbread, all types of dynamat....they both work well..

i would never recommend using "great stuff" that foam that expands....

When I did my Convertible that I used to do IASCA with I put v-block in it but it had areas that were hard to put matting down so I had put the spray on also and it held up for 6 years and the only time you heard rattle was if i had the trunk lid open and the rattle was from the part of the latch that grabbed the stricker!!!!

i have done my grand am in fat mat. www.fatmat.com it is basically dynamat extreme without the price of paying for the brand name, you get 2 rolls = 100sf for $100 plus shipping and i had enough to do my whole car and still some left over, not much but some. i dont have a stereo hooked up yet to test it out but i have heard about it from a few people and they said it was pretty good.

i have 2 layers of peel and seal in my cutlass. been on there for 3 years now. only had a few pieces fall off and those were on the trunk lid. i have 200+ sq ft in there. of course i did everywhere i could get.
i went this route due to money savings over others.
it did stink for a bit though since it is asphalt based.
the expanding foam was used in the trunk lid and helped alot. but be careful as i sprayed that when it was still a little cool. and as the temps rose it expanded more. no bulges or anything, but i did have trouble a couple times opening my trunk since it had come out the holes and started to cure where the lid met the seal or the metal.

but there are lots of options out there now.
hit some car audio forums and see what is used and what works.

remember though that this adds weight. so if you plan on racing know you will be slower if you add alot. if done higher, as in upper half of car it will also throw off things a little bit.
