Any good theaters/bands in town?

Use to living in the "cities" - particularly downtown St.Paul where you had a vast assortment of entertainment. I pariticularly like Jazz and Opera, go ahead and insult me all you want different strokes for different folks - where should I go for that in the Fargo-Moorhead area?

If jazz is your thing you might want to check out The HoDo Lounge inside the Hotel Donaldson down on broadway, I know they've had jazz and blues performers there in the past I'm not sure about recently or anything coming up, but with summer just starting you may find something you like. Although I don't mind a little jazz if I'm in the right mood, it's just not thing, so I don't really pay too much attention as the when/where such events will be taking place.
As far as opera? You may be SOL on that, there's always plays and things like that going on in fargo in the summer but not opera as far as I know.

The winery by cash wise has a jazz night, so does Basies. FM opera company only does 2 shows a year, check with Festival concert Hall at NDSU for dates. Lots of little plays happening- FMCT, Main Ave Theatre, and several small troopes have shows. usually 1 to 2 a month. Lots of area bands plying all the time. check places like the Red Raven Esperesso Parlor, Plains Art Museum, Upfront Gallerie, HoDo, and Zambros.
There is a bunch of little things happening all the time, just have to dig for it usually.

Went to the plains art museum this weekend, very interesting, cozy little find in the F-M area, and to whomever introduced the Hodo/Hotel Donaldson on Broadway; thank you very much! I also tried out a place called "Monty's" - both very nice martini bars!
