October 13th Street Legal

Yup, in complete agreement. When i used to go there every weekend to race sleds back about 5-7 years ago, there was none of that shit. Plus, that yellow R1=teh gayness with his revving on it constantly. I was soooo impressed!
I like going to IDR to watch, but im not really interested in racing. If i would have been there with the drag radials and they wouldnt let me in the groove, i might as well get my money back and go home. BIR ftMFw as far as im concerned, go on a wed night street event, its cheap and there arent alot of cars there.

GaryFew times i've been to BIR its been pretty busy, but they will not let you run slicks on wed nights which sucks.

Well here we go again... The street legal events have always had those that simply didn't feel satisfied. I think with anything in life that is how it goes. We have actively tried very hard to cater to every complaint, but as soon as one is resolved, another arises. The reason the cones are there (which creates a pain for the starting line crew to move the cones back and forth), was for those that complained about traction. Now those with DR's or slicks aren't being recognized, and that is causing issues as well. If you the correct tires to be in the groove, and the starting line guy doesn't recognize it, tell them. Back when the first Street Legal days were started, we didn't allow slicks...because it is a STREET LEGAL EVENT. If you have direct issues with the way something is done at the track please don't start a thread about it! Complaining after the fact just creates more drama over something that could have been resolved at the track. I'm sure it is difficult for the starting line guys to see smaller slicks when they are used to seeing big V8's with HUGE slicks (insert Dave or Matt comparison) Tintmaster employees are present on those days to cater to alllll the racers. If you really feel urked about something, we directly make nearly every change as we go so TELL US! We try as hard as we can to make a fun atmosphere for everyone, but cannot always please everyone. We had to pull strings to get this last track day, and made the IDRAGS crew work after the regular schedule was done. We choose this, so we could hopefully get a nice cool day for the racers. It worked out, but with the cooler weather cars perform better and track prep performs worse... Was it worth it? Sounds like it was not. Next year if we decide to continue this series, we will address the bike issue day one and that should no longer cause a headache. The traction issue I think is a lost cause. I am not going to stress over it anymore because as long as there are street tires present on these "Street Legal" days, there will never be as good of traction as a regular day at the track. I'm very sorry to those that feel they didn't receive a good value at the track day(s), and think for those people they should stick to racing at the Test and Tune days and regular IDRAGS days...
If anybody has polite suggestions to offer on how to improve (we have not picked up the latest cliffnotes issue of "how to run a track day and make everyone happy), please stop into the shop and offer the suggestion. We will take EVERYONE'S opinion seriously.
Once again, sorry to those that simply weren't or never have been satisfied with our Street Legal days.

I'd bet at least 95% of the people are satisfied with the street legal days, don't add to the drama Jason. :p:
In all seriousness, I think the events were run very well. There will always be small things that can be improved. Getting feedback is a good thing, even if it's on a forum.

I agree that most are satisfied, but it is always fun to watch those that have gone to the next degree with their car run at these events. We tried to cater more to these guys cause a) these are the ones that encounter the most issues with these events b) these are the ones that motivate others to reach that level with their car. c) they are the ones that REALLY need track prep and traction...
Constructive criticism is welcome in an form...However discussing face to face about issues seems to put both parties on the same level of understanding. If the individual doesn't want to stop into the shop (the same shop that is hosting these events, and footing the bill), then I guess I can read through 5 pages of what was wrong.
Not adding to any drama here, I just want everyone to know that we are trying to help when possible and that sometimes a simple suggestion about something is all it will take to stop an issue (bikes for example...which I hold more on the lady directing cars as opposed to the biker guys individually).

it was/has been a great thing to be able to go to the track and watch or race. i have tried to make almost all of them weather i'm racing or not. i didn't make it out to alot of them this year. but i do plan on going to the ones next year if they are held.
my friend only got 2 runs in the hole day. now i know he got send off for a small coolent leak or what ever so i can sorta understand. but then at the end of the day he was the next guy to race and they shut it down. kinda suck to spend the same amoun tof money as the bikes for 1/8 the runs or less.... (i know it was already discussed)
overall it is a great thing to have the track so close, no matter how shitty it is.

have you guys considered separating some of the slick/dr cars and running them all together?
or set aside 3 or 4 times during the day where everyone stops, they prep the track a little bit at least and run the slick cars, the DR cars, and then back to the street cars?
Give some of these guys like faul, dave, and tufte (and all those other guys running say sub 11s) a chance to make a full legitimate pass.

That sounds managable, however I don't want to forget the fact that these days are street legal days, and I can about imagine what the masses would/will say when they can't run for the first 30 minutes or hour for non street legal cars.... We will see what we can do.

45min to an hour to get teched in was pretty sad as well.
