As you may know I have a 91 Talon. Before my light would never come on when I opened the door but now it wont shut off. It is the lights that are at your feet inside the car.

Also the light that indicates that a door is open stays on all the time. It started blinking on the way up here from Wis. and has since stayed on.

    Suggestions?

Door ajar switch open circuit. Remove switch on drivers side, ground wire and if light goes off, that switch is bad. If not check other doors including hatch.

just look at the switch box cover...or in your manual...it will say which one is the interior lights.

It is mighty cold outside but I will try it.

im sure you could find someone else with ur car with a manual or search long enough online and find one. Maybe the dealership would have access to one??

try just bending the metal part around the white plastice piece up so the door actually pushes the plastic piece in when its closed.

Yeah but just now when I was driving it around at just about every stop the car would shut off and taking out that fuse disabled the radio.

if you didnt fix it try putting a small tack weld where the light switch connects in the door jam. i did that on my girlfriends car because the door jam was dented in.
                                  just my two cents.

I had the same problem with both of my DSM's. If I can see it, I'll probably be able to figure it out.

Yeah after taking out that door switch I took it out on the freeway and played a little bit but once I stopped the idle just went back to normal. Sweet!!!

I think I owe you a six pack or something.
