I placed the order today for an anodizing setup. Should hopefully be here mid next week so we can start playing w/ it. Purchased it for the majority of doing my own items that i manufacturer but am interested in doing some items for the public as well. Right now im not looking @ doing this in bulk for the public as i dont have the time or interest. We will be doing some demo items next week once we get everything setup and i'll post some pics up. If its not to much of a PITA Turbo5oh will be doing the majority of it so if you'd like something done you can hit him up and see when he has time to come in and do it. The kit i purchased has the capabilities of doing 4 sq ft of aluminum @ once so we should be able to maitain a good turnaround time.

Basically powdercoating has become a PITA for aluminum and hasn't had the best effieceny rating as steel so we resorted to anodizing. From my research others as well have tried different methods of powdercoating for aluminum as well due to related problems. Aluminum is just so hard to get clean for powdercoating that we're gonna try anodizing.

I ordered in black, red and blue dye to start out w/.

    Demo of blue bezel:

      Hey, that's great nick.

How large of items are you capable of doing...and can you give us a estimate on customer cost? For instance, a radius rod arm?

I'm aware of a 'couple' rims that are anodized. What would be the possibility of doing this as opposed to powdercoating nick?

Size capabilities just depends on how large of containers we decide to use. If anything i can buld my own containers to do larger items but it's just gonna take that much more dye to do so if its an odd ball color price will have to be inflated to compensate. Most stocked color will be black as i do all of our gauge bezels in black. Like i said after we get everything setup and get everything rolling i'll be more apt to give quotes but i dont wanna jump in head first and underquote on something thats gonna take twice as lon as anticipated. Also as far as i know we will be the only place in town w/ capabilities of anodizing :-).

                From the other post-

Maybe I was misinformed but I was under the assumption that anodizing was more durable than powdercoating...?

the process of anodizing hardens the outer layer of the aluminum makeing it harder to scratch but at .001 thick it is still easy to scratch but will not chip or peel like other coatings, anodizing isnt the process of coloring aluminum, its the process of opening the pores of aluminum to accept color, after color has taken then there is another process of sealing it in

You can powdercoat the compressor housing, not the exhaust side

could you do valve covers or do those have to be powder coated?

Would it be ok to anodize wheels or not? I would just be worried about getting the tires mounted on them and the lug nuts messing up the coating. How durable is it compared to powdercoating?

you can anodize steel and aluminum so you can do just about any valve cover out there.
