Is GOD real?

I don't think Jesus ever taught that following "rules" would lead to him. -

Then what leads to him? What is the minimum?Jesus taught, I am the way the truth and the life, noone comes to the father except threw me. The only way anyone can go to heaven is buy believing that he is God, accepting him as their personal savior, addmitting they are a sinner, that they need to change, asking for forgiveness and letting him lead their life. Following the ten commandments, and all the "rules" should just come natural because if they have truely accepted him they should want to make him happy. You could follow all the 10 commandments, and all the rules, and be a "good person" but if you are doing it for the wrong reasons, and have not accepted Jesus as your personal savior, don't believe that he is God, and havn't commited your life to him you'll go to hell according to the bible.
There is no minimum, we all are sinners, we all make mistakes, that's why the Bible teaches that Jesus came to die as a sacrifice for the sins of the world, since there is no sacrifice that we could give great enough for all our sins. This is why we can come and ask forgivness. Once someone has become a christian will they be perfect? NO!! Their lives and attitudes should have changed in such a way though that they want to please God and serve him with their lives. Everyone will go astray and still make mistakes, which is why we are able to ask for forgiveness. I know I am by no means perfect...

He hit the nail on the head.
It's called GRACE.
God giving us a gift we don't deserve.
WE can do nothing to "earn" our way to heaven.
"it is by GRACE you have been saved through faith, lest any man shall boast".
It's all quite simple really.
Einstein believed that there was a God even!
How smart are you?

Ok...I'm in so here we go. I'm not trying to be a prick, I just want honest straight up answers from the believers in this thread.
Is it possible that the devout Catholic, Adolph Hitler, could be in heaven if he had truly repented prior to his death?
Why was little or no faith needed to believe in god during Old Testament times (god appeared to humans regularly) yet today christians have to rely on 100% faith for their belief?
How would you prove that your god exists - without using arguments that someone from another religion would use to prove their god exists, and without reference to the Bible?
Why is your god the only valid god?
If Christ did come back to earth, what would be your minimum requirement for proof of his authenticity?
Why does most of the Old Testament teach that there is no afterlife (see
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, for example), while later Old Testament writings and the
New Testament do?Why wasn't there a 40-year period in Egypt's history when the whole land was
devoid of people and animals, as prophesied by Ezekiel (Ezekiel 29:11-12)?Why is the Old Testament and most of the New Testament addressed only to
free men, and not to women or slaves? Does God deal only with free males?I have many more but until later I will leave everyone with this...
If I'm wrong, you can sing the "I told you so" song for eternity as I writhe in the fires of Hell. If I'm right, when we die we both cease to exist and I never get to sing the "I told you so" song. Not even once. That sucks.

YESWhy was little or no faith needed to believe in god during Old Testament times (god appeared to humans regularly) yet today christians have to rely on 100% faith for their belief?
**Cant answer this on a keyboard **How would you prove that your god exists - without using arguments that someone from another religion would use to prove their god exists, and without reference to the Bible? **Wait what? **
Why is your god the only valid god?
** I think it has to do with your faith and the understanding of the bible..**If Christ did come back to earth, what would be your minimum requirement for proof of his authenticity?
**Well for one you better not have the mark of the beast. And when Jesus comes back you will know because all the believer will be raptured.
**
Why does most of the Old Testament teach that there is no afterlife (see
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, for example), while later Old Testament writings and the New Testament do?
**I will type out Ecc 9:5 because 6 has nothing to do with the question (For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, they have no further reward, and even the memory of them is forgotten. The living are thous who are believer well the dead are unbelievers.
**
Why wasn't there a 40-year period in Egypt's history when the whole land was

Here is an interesting question for the people who don't believe. What do you think happens when you die? Obviously no right or wrong answer for you, I'm just curious what you think.I "think" that when I'm dead, I'm dead. I will be buried I'm sure then I will sit in the earth and decompose.
Now as to answer the question as to why I have my doubts. Look how many different alignments of the Christian faith there is not to mention, all the other religions in the world today. And I'm not talking about the cult shit, real religions.... Take Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Taoism, etc. **You guys tell me......**Which one is right? What makes one more "real" or "true" than the other? And how do I or you choose which one that I should to belive in? And when I choose, who am I to pick and choose which one is correct? The Christian faith is the real whopper to me. Theres soo many options and versions saying "Their way is the only true way to life everlasting in heaven". That's what leaves me sceptical. and until I get some concrete evidence, that's how I will stay. At least for now.
I will choose my way of beliefs for myself. I WILL NOT be told what to believe. I will also not tell anyone else how or what to believe either. I will not think less of any person based on their beliefs (whether I agree with them or not) and I expect the same. I have some very devout Christians as friends along with a couple of pagans, Islamics, and Jehova witnesses as well. I could give two shits about what and how they believe. If it works for them, great.
Dont judge me based on my beliefs and I will return the favor. This is especially aimed at any true Christian. They are supposed to be taught not to judge but to let God and God only be the one to pass judgement.
/RANT!
Oh and for the Christians... Everytime you "rub one out"... Your sinning.

Mr Hole, first you ask what's the correct to believe and then you tell us that you "will not be told what to believe"?

Putting religion aside. (being Catholic has nothing to do with going to heaven or hell) I believe that Christs blood covers ALL sin. In God's eyes there is no lesser or greater sin. If Hilter truly was repentent for what he did and accepted Christs blood to cover his sin, then yes...Hilter is in heaven.
They had to have faith in the Old Testament, but they were under the "old convenant", whereby they had to sacrifice animals all the time for their sin etc. When Christ was born, died and rose, that was the final sacrifice for all sin, past, present and future. That is the "new" convenant. The one thing we have to do to have everylasting life and the forgiveness of sin is to accept what Christ did on the cross and to give him your life. The people in the Old Testament had God's visual presenance by fire and cloud and all the miracles and still kept on sinning. It wouldn't matter today if Christ himself would come...people would still choose not to believe.
Regards to your question on Egypt. I believe that the chronology of Egypt has been misinterpreted. If you bring the chronology to centuries then that brings the 12th dynasty of Egypt around when Moses lived. It goes in more detail on the link above.
http://www.answersingenesis.org/tj/v15/i1/moses.aspCheck out the website below. It goes into great detail about alot of the question you have above and probably alot of questions you have and didn't ask. I'd would just butcher it up.

Let me ask you this. I consider you my friend. If I saw you driving blindly toward a disaster unbenownst to you, and I wouldn't warn you, then what kind of friend would I be? I want all of my friends/ family to be in heaven someday with me. By keeping my faith to myself does nothing to accomplish that. I believe the best way for a Christian to share their faith with one another is to live their life by example. Unfortunately alot of Christians fall short in that aspect....myself included, and constantly try to do better each day.
Wes....I love ya man!!

(judging one another only applies to a believer judging a believer...not a believer judging a non believer)
There is nothing in Bible that says that masterbating is wrong per say, but if you visualize having sex with someone in your mind while doing it then it is a sin!!

I didn't mean to insinuate that there was judging going on in this thread but, I have been judged based on the fact I have my doubts after being raised a Catholic. I live in a very religious community and unfortunately see alot of the judging going on. I'm surrounded everywhere by Christian beliefs (in the courts, on our currency, etc.) and have absolutley no problem with haveing it where it is. But, to have so many "believers" say how sorry they feel for me because I don't believe in god really gets under my skin. I'm done now.
