I actually am not planning something "devious" I am going to do some experiments with the properties of metals when there is a extreme temp change. For example if its pushed one way, if the extreme change can cause the metal to change back to the original position......... Enough with the BS, I am going to be attempting a new PDR method I have been reading on.

Yeah keep us posted on this. Sounds like it would work somewhat...

I've heard of people using regular ice to get small dents out , especially in the summer after the car has been sitting in the hot sun all day. I'm guessing dry ice would work pretty good, just a little hard to get your hands on some. If you have access to a CO2 fire extenguisher that you or somebody does mind parting with you can make a small amount of your own.

Dixie Carbonics, that's where we bought it from when we were making dry ice bombs.

25 14th street south in fargo. Bring a cooler and buy 2 blocks. Walk-ins welcome. This is where i buy the dry ice for removing sound deadening.

that method of pdr has been tried many times before....it doesnt work... dont you think people would be doing it if it were easier than massaging the dents out? I'd think so!

Thanks Colin. Having the panels warm wont be hard......... heat gun FTW!

If it doesn't work. Thats just more fun I get to have...... I have talked with a few people that have done this and it worked. I figured, who cares ill try it.

Try some canned air upside down. I have had one, and only one, dent pop out from this after I heated it.

Well, this is my results. My big dents in my rear 1/4 got a little bit smaller. Don't know if it will pop out again after i put the car down and drive it. 2 others got a bit smaller but still there. In true mythbusters style I will be taking it to the next level today. I have some junk body panels and ill make some large dents and try it.

Also, lots of dry ice to play with!

Yeah we used to do that all the time when we were younger. Had a few VERY close calls though...one bottle blew up in my hands about a foot from my face.

We filled a 2 liter and put a camera on it to record the explosion, it took forever but when it blew up you could feel it in the house 50 feet away, all the ornaments on the windows were shaking too.

When I worked at a grocery store we'd throw them out the dock door. It was lots of fun until the manager caught on...

Something else that gets VERY cold is compressed CO2. Id be willing to bet that would get plenty cold if a 20 OZ tank were emptied on the panel.

me and some friends do this alot in the warmer months, we threw some in a dumpster once so it would echo really loud, and being we were in a baseball field parking lot, we found a baseball. so as one friend stuck his head in the dumpster to see why in the hell the bottle had taken so long to blow, my other friend threw the baseball as hard as he coule at the dumpster making the person with their head in it to think it went off. i swear he shit his pants.

The canisters that of compressed air that are used to clean off keyboards are compressed C02. Hold them upside down and that's what comes out...super cold.

I was thinking much larger. I fill CO2 at Scheels and when You dump a really full bottle the cans get extremely cold. You can't even touch them or you'll get frost bite... so I bet if you could figure out a way to unleash an full tank onto the heated dent you'd get some pretty extreme temp changes which is what you want.
