The reasons to swap a LSx motor into everything
-
Check out this months story in HOT ROD mag. This is the reason i preach swapping a LSx motor, (specifically the 5.3) into everything. especially RX-7s and 240's. (zac, you fag)
Just so you know, 5.3s can be had for about $450 at salvage yards, a really nice one for about $700, the damn things are cheap as honda motors

GaryHow good are the motors as far as boost/spray?

well that one has ran up to 18psi, when the 70mm turbo ran out of juice! At 18psi it was making 647whp, through a stalled TH400 to boot. so id venture to guess thats around 720hp at the crank, at least. As far as spray goes, theres alot of guys running 175-200 hits on them with no problems, just dont fuck up.

I would guess they are looking at more than 720 at the crank unless that tranny is very effiecent.

I can see why you would want to, I guess I'm just not a fan. Brings me back to highschool when all the shopfags would talk about how they were 'gonna throw a threefiddy' in just about anything with wheels and it would 'be fast as shit' because 'threefiddy got balls!!!' after that they would all hyuck it up for a couple of minutes until one of them started telling the rest how he put a butterball turkey into his snowmobile, poured root beer on it and went 120mph right through a snowbank, or something retarded like that. I guess I really can't think of anything that I would put an LS1 into instead of the original motor, except for maybe one of those tiny saturns, that would be pretty cool, or maybe a really old celica or datsun 210 or something.

That R34 in Australia with the turbo LS7 is a monster and doesnt have the oiling problems that it did with the I6. There is something to be said about the symmetry of a V8 versus a Inline motor its a very pleasing asthetic. V8 FTW as always. What about a R34??? You mean that R33
There should be no oiling problems with the RB motors, unless it was not put together right. The RB26 stock bottom end has been proven to make 600whp+
