            Shouldn't need to hammer the drum off. Use the star wheel to retract the brake shoes. Take a look in there and see what is siezed up. Also check the e-brake cables

              his e-brake doesnt work, hasn't for ever.

              I am pretty sure the shoes are froze to the drum.

              PM me for:
              Sandblasting(I use glass beads)
              Diesel repairs or performance products.

                Yea, i had to do this on one of my old cars. And i have changed brakes in a parking lot before too.

                Or you could put on disks.

                  Disc conversion is for the other car...not gonna swap for a car that's getting sold anyways (especially since i'm robbing the front DA brakes from it). I'll probably tear it apart tonight after class. The one time I decide to leave all my tools at home instead of keeping them up here is when I need them, lol.

                    its been a while since i looked at the drums on the civic but isnt the star wheel on the inside? i dont think you can adjust from the outside on hondas. i could be very wrong tho.

                      There should be an access slot/hole on the back side. There is usually a rubber plug that you need to remove.

                            It's possible the wheel clyinder pistons are hyperextending due to the brakes being worn out too much, combined with the star adjuster not adjusting . When that happens it usually drags the brake a little while after using them, or could stay locked up.

                              ^ that's what I was thinking...hammered the fuck outa the drum and tried prying...wouldnt budge. Didnt have a small enough wrench to open the bleeder screw, probably gonna try that tomar...
