if you're going to be in chicago, you really should go to gino's east for pizza. i don't know what the limitations of my best western discount are, but i could do some asking to see if i can get a discount on multiple rooms there. someone should pm me with some specifics so i can make a couple of calls.
EDIT: i should mention that i'm not planning to be there, but i'll do what i can to aid the effort

We were going to go there last time i was down there but i was told they were closed, so idk if that is true, or maybe they moved.

we went the last 3 yrs to HIN Chicago.
first and third yr we stayed at hyatt mccormick place. so nice, but alot of cash for a room. might not be able to get one this late in the game though. 2nd yr we stayed travelodge downtown. much cheaper but aways from mccormick place, but in the middle of downtown..compromise i guess.
definitely a good time had. first yr left fargo friday then left on sunday to come back. next 2 yrs left thurs and sunday. much easier on a body.
took us 11.5-12 hrs each way. left fargo at 7am. did not have too much problems with traffic.
be sure on directions though. as we had issues this past year. we ended up going through some poor streets to get there.we are going to NOPI STL this year.

takes about 11 hours. watch the cops in wisconsin. go ahead and book it once you hit illinois. should be about 2 hours then.

if your looking for good pizza. check out edwardso or Giordanos and get the deep dish(edwardos is famous for the spinach pizza, its pretty damn good). Also, check out Mcormicks pub at night in downtown chicago. Happy hour and food is like 2 bucks for burger and fries. they have other shit too. Do not go into the restaurant unless you wanna drop 30 bucks on a meal, go into the bar. DEVON has happy hour specials at 9 pm as well, lobster at market price (13 to 15 bucks). if you venture out to hyde park where i go to school...thats probably the farthest south you wanna go if you want to find any good food. Oh and if your a fan of sushi, there is an all you can eat sushi buffet in westside chicago and a korean buffet.
oh and if your looking for a place to stay thats decently priced, id say the red roof inn located dowtown. its like 5 minutes max from the mcormick center. oh yeah be sure to hit up china town... wish i was there to hang out with you guys.

now where were you last year with this info when i asked. specially about the sushi place. dangit
remember about parking as well. 3yrs ago we got raped for 16 bux at mccormick for 2hrs parking. that is you park it. and leave as you wish. but time starts over when you repark it. like 30 a day if you leave it. 26 or so if you valet it. at travelodge downtown it was 20 a day they park and you get one time out a day. not sure if prices went up or not though since then.
mccormick has a shuttle that goes downtown as well as to the navy pier and some other places. take advantage of that as well as taxi's if possible. much easier than trying to find parking and paying for parking. at least that is what we found out.
OH and tolls too once you get into IL. think we paid about 6bux a car last yr each way. from 80 cents to 2bux a shot.Monty
