So i got in a debate with my friend on rev limiter and speeds. He says that if you increase the compression of an engine that your going to get a higher top speed per gear. I said no that cant be true because your still limited by that gear speed and rev limiter (assuming the gear has a rev limiter). you may get to that speed faster but that is the fastest you will go in that gear.

correct me if i am wrong. ii am a newb.

    RSX TYPE S...HAS FINALLY COME.

    BOOST....to be continued

        you own him.

Higher compression would get you there faster, or it can also blow it up faster.

i'd have to say that your friend fails at knowing things about engines

            96 Nissan 200SX

depends on how you look at it... If there is no rev limiter or it is high, higher compression CAN extend the powerband of the engine, allowing for more RPMs, allowing for more MPH, but it would depend on the context of your conversation and vehicle at hand.
