Tufte, I know it is hard for you to wrap your pin head around this concept, but not everybody has a big fucking hard on for European or Japanese cars. Refer to the post I made much earlier about personal preference and how not everybody buys a car because it is the best performance per dollar.

I would do the GT-R or the 09 Zr1 looks like a good option (Supercharged with 638hp) or for about the same price you could buy a ZO6 and send it to lingenfelter for the 1000hp package....I think any of the new import or domestic high hp cars would be fun at least you could drive them and beat on them and they would not break as often as much as lets say my old dsm, they would ride good have all the nice features inside and so on and so on....i guess its all personal preferance my needs for a cool fast car is so much different than a couple of years ago.Ive been driving a CTS-V around and thats pretty fun at least i can get my family and all our crap in it to go to the lake.

And why would you take shots at someone just for posting the results of a magazine shootout, he didn't put any personal opinion or and comments in about that.

i'm sure i'm going to be in the minority here, but i must say that i'm not looking forward to the skyline being made available here. in fact, given the chance, i wouldn't even buy one. having spoken to a friend from college that is from a well-to-do japanese family (in japan), i'm going to trust his description of the skyline handling poorly. the combination of an inline 6 and 4wd makes it not incredibly friendly to turns. there was more to it, but that was the major damaging combination of features

Look at how many Corvettes (or insert other sports car) there are that are just driven for fun. Different people have different wants/desires and you must look at all of them rather than assuming that people think like yourself.

The new skyline is a fucking beast in a straight line and set records at the nurenburgring (sp?).

The test many things from as far as performance to handling to road noise to interior comfort, etc..

There's a link to the article but its all japanese. There's also articles that say the GT-R that did that 7:29 run is not what is the production car that will be sold. The original test rated the GT-R ring lap @ 7:38.
Corvette Z06 7:49
Ford GT 7:52Apparently now though there has been a modified Porsche GT2 that clicked of 7:15!

I'm not 50 years old so I have no idea what I would do. I'll cross that bridge if/when I get there.Yes, I have seen the new Challenger in person.
They are bringing it back because people want them and people will buy them.
Lets see, with a new GTO you have a warranty, all the latest creature comforts, comfort, etc. Not to mention the price of the 60s and 70s Pontiacs has absolutely skyrocketed in the last few years.
Now you are talking about people giving themselves a reputation which has nothing to do with a company deciding to bring back a car. He gave himself that reputation but 90% of the GTOs I see out there are driven by people who aren't like that clown.
The whole idea behind the GTO and most of the muscle cars back then was that they were affordable and that the average joe could drive one.
have you even thought why the prices have gone up so much?? maye the fact that around every corner you turn there you see it. middle age mexican dude pinchin pennies to have his "dream car" uh fuck that.
if im gunna spend money on a car that so much as shares the name of a classic such as a gto or challenger. i dont wanna see pablo and his gang-o-homies mexi packed in the same thing.
so if you want to spend your hard earned money on something the average joe can afford. then congrats....you still an average joe. more power to ya. but when you see your precious challenger packed full of the minority, and you cant show them a thing or 2 cuz you went the cheap way and got the same thing. all you do is look down and say to yourself "damnit....i shouldve got the real thing."

btw....im not racist

I was wrong...both are unofficial....but the Lexus is 1 second faster unofficially.

What does it matter who else drives the car? There will always be somebody who you don't think should be that drives a certain car. I see what your thoughts on this are now. You think that only certain people should be able to drive certain cars. If somebody who you feel is inferior drives a vehicle you think that the car is automatically crap.
BTW, last time I checked a Challenger is a Challenger and this the new ones are "the real thing."

All these new era cars trying to be replica's of the true muscle cars a joke. They will never be what the muscle cars are.
Sure, they can continue making them, but to a true muscle car guru, new era cars are a waste of metal compared to the real thing.
