The reason I'm looking around for a place to rebuild is because they sold the turbo as a "rebuildable core" mostly due to the not knowing the history on the unit. But for how clean it looks it might not have that many miles on it. They said it has no shaft play and spins freely, I think they were just covering themselves. I'm just trying to get info just in case.

The only way it would have to be sent off is if balancing needs to be done....

and that is only would be required if something on the rotating assembly is replaced or you didn't keep track of how the compressor wheel was indexed to the turbine shaft when you took it apart....

there is nothing to a journal bearing turbo.....

just make sure you keep track of where the compressor wheel was indexed on the turbine shaft when you take it apart...... spec your turbine shaft journals..... install your new bearings, seals, ect.... then put it back together with the compressor wheel in the original position....

Majestic Turbo.... is who i would send it off to if i had to... cheap, and a good job....

To balance a rotating assembly they only charge something like $60... and i believe it is dynamic

That thing looks to be in decent shape. I'd take it to Dave at Sports car engineering in Moorhead. He could rebuild an audi turbo in his sleep.

Sometimes, its cheaper to buy a new one then to rebuild it.

                      PM me for:

Why would you waste money on a K03 btw?

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!
