IF it were you in that situation, i'm willing to bet you would have enough common sense to let the moron biker pass before attempting to cut into traffic. At the age of 15, you don't have that much experience behind the wheel.
My .02 is the inexperience has a factor in this whether it's a small amount or a large amount, it is still a factor.
When she started into traffic, he was NOT speeding...at least not as badly. I saw her enter the road before I saw him accelerate. What is so hard to understand about this? Once she had committed to merging w/ southbound traffic it was too late for her to turn back...and her primary concern would have been merging into that lane of traffic. Even if she did see him (i'm guessing she didn't recheck as no one in their right mind starts accelerating when they see a big f'ing SUV in front of them on the road...) what were her choices? Smash her vehicle into a group of vehicles heading south and potentially killing her passenger OR pray to God the guy on the bike had time to stop. Let's see...let natural selection take over or potentially kill her friend and/or a bunch of INNOCENT people in the lane she was attempting to merge with....tough choice. Given the situation, I would have let the rider hit me as well. But hey, I'm inexperienced too...only 19.5 years of LEGAL driving experience behind me, what do I know?
