Honda abs removal??
-
A friend has a 91 Accord as a winter beater. Its got like 350K on the car and we've been helping it along. Actually still pretty nice for the miles. Well the abs pump assembly has developed a leak, and didn't work in the first place. Remaned unit is $500 and I have been unable to locate a used one. Can I just pull the unit and put t's in the lines from the master cylinder, so it basically does not have abs anymore? Or is there built in porportioning valves and stuff, so it will not work right? Anyone have any ideas?

Get one off a junk one for cheap/free, otherwise you should be fine to just remove it. Im not positive on accords, but most hondas you can just pull it with no problem.

You shouldn't need a new master cylinder, ABS master cylinder are usually slightly larger so it will be fine.

after checking around, I found there isn't much for metric brake line parts. So I can't really make anything to take the abs unit out. So I guess I have to buy a used unit. This that sucks is I cannot find anything locally, gunna have to order one from halfway across the country.
