Disabling Auto Headlights
-
Trying to disable the auto headlights on my 2006 Colorado. I have read a lot of things on forums about disconnecting daytime running lights, but those don't bother me. I want to install HIDs, but have been warned that the auto headlight system will wreck HIDs. Anyone know anything about this? I want to use the factory headlight switch, otherwise I would just run a different switch for the headlights.

O god, another truck with HIDs in a housing pretty much designed to blind people. This will be fun to drive in front ofMy truck is not very much higher off the ground than most cars... I will make sure to aim them properly...

No Brandon, they are sweet. If you want more light on the road's surface...why not have light spitting in all different directions. Are you mentally retarded? It doesnt matter what kind of bulbs are in your housings... They are all going to reflect the same direction off your reflectors... Unless you have aftermarket projector style housings.

yeah i am sure. How would a light that is being reflected off the back housing of the headlight change just because of a different type of a bulb...you do understand how high beams and low beams work on single bulb reflector style housings right? In this argument you are very wrong. And there is absolutly no aiming headlights that glare that badly

Dont disable the dtr lights. It wont ruin the headlights it will just use them all the time. I guess knock more life off them? But if your goal is ultimatly "more light" then why not always have "more light". Since really its just for the ricer image
besides, dtrl's are for safety. their good to have
