Just call AEM and see what they have to say. I have never had that error. Sounds like it might be a hardware issue.I found a bunch of instances of not being able to connect on the forums and most of them were solved with the EPROM chip not being seated well enough.
Mitch said something about you having to downgrade the firmware to get it to work before? It is on old firmware v1.11, but came with v1.03. I downloaded the newest version of AEMPro, and will try to give that a shot today. Then see what AEM has to say.

How are you going to downgrade the firmware if you can't connect via serial?

I am pretty sure if it is running at all, there is still a cal on it. Not sure on the connectivity issue. Good luck, Mitch.Right, but if we have to hardflash the chip without being able to connect, won't that delete the cal on the PROM?

i would bet the last time i had it connected was two years minimum. if that counts as out of the blue then yup ha.
not only am i worried about having to buy another one but i dont have a backup cal. yea. weak. means i cant even start it with a new one.
edit/ you asshats wrote all that before i finished two sentences?

It's something in the cal conversion I think. Just don't update the firmware until you're on the dyno ready to tune?
