no one asked "why would you choose a cat over a dog, or vice versa?" i asked "is there a purpose to any pet, other than as an expensive toy with upkeep?"sounds like a kid....

all of our dogs and cats have served a purpose... the cats were barn cats, they were there to kill mice and other little animals... the border collie we had was for herding our sheep when we had them, the rots and german shepards were to basically scare the shit outa ppl, protect the house and shop... I do have to say that the border collie killed more mice, chipmunks, etc. than our lousy cats ever did...

The one cat my parents have at their farm kills a shit ton of mice. She makes sure to leave them as...presents. All of our dogs out their are also hunting dogs that have been trained to point/retrieve. The only animal that we have that is useless is our Pug. I don't think they have any purpose whatsoever...besides pooping and annoying me at times.

I hate cats, but even I wouldn't do that to a cat.
