Cats

all of our dogs and cats have served a purpose... the cats were barn cats, they were there to kill mice and other little animals... the border collie we had was for herding our sheep when we had them, the rots and german shepards were to basically scare the shit outa ppl, protect the house and shop... I do have to say that the border collie killed more mice, chipmunks, etc. than our lousy cats ever did...

The one cat my parents have at their farm kills a shit ton of mice. She makes sure to leave them as...presents. All of our dogs out their are also hunting dogs that have been trained to point/retrieve. The only animal that we have that is useless is our Pug. I don't think they have any purpose whatsoever...besides pooping and annoying me at times.

I don't care if you like cats or not, I find out you did something like that ill beat you down myself. Not understanding the purpose of a particular kind of pet is no excuse to abuse or kill it.

It's one thing to hunt for food, its another to torture. I'm pretty sure that is what Josh was getting at.

There are laws to ensure a thing called fair chase when you hunt. A domesticated cat has no such laws protecting it and unless it is dangerous, I can't even say that with a straight face, you have no reason to kill it other then to assuage you own hatred for them.

Duct taping a cat= Torture; starting a turtle on fire = torture, shooting a deer/grouse/pheasant/etc... to eat = yummy.
