Must be a hot idea then, since Ive seen similar things on so many other supras.

You never thought of having a pipe bent to fit it? Maybe that would be too simple for you. You could have even notched your firewall, you said yourself you like to fabricate things. You must enjoy it since you do so much of it. It would have made it look less terrible and not like an 8th grade welding project.

You're right though, I guess I would waste a lot of time making something that flows terribly and looks twice as bad too.
Having a 4" piece of tubing at that extreme is not happening. You have no fucking inch of an idea on things are made do you?

Your motor is clean, but your down-pipe looks terrible. And you should have sold the T-Shirts to fund the purchase of bending machine.

o c'mon a mandrel bender can bend pretty well. it all depends on who is using it i guess. If you are good at using the machine you are capable of a lot of things. you think you have a space issue under the hood of your car?? try working on a 300zx. gotta pull the motor for almost everything. those cars with their engines aren't an easy task.

At that extreme? I'm sorry but that's not an extreme. In fact, I'm willing to bet that every other supra with that setup has run into the same issue and found other ways to fix it. And if they didn't run into that issue, then you just did something incorrectly in your thought process.

And it's clearly you that has no idea, or you wouldn't have wasted your time and metal on that "pipe" you have on it now. I'm not even sure one could call that a pipe. The more I look at it, the less and less it looks like it should be on a car. Bending a pipe to fit that angle and turbo outlet would have saved you a lot of stress I'm sure.

But whatever helps you sleep at night I guess...

Although you wouldn't understand this concept after all you did purchase a VW.

Right. So that is why they call it a "downpipe", or "turbo-outlet pipe" and not a "downtube"... makes perfect sense. not to mention a pipe and a tube are the same thing. You should correct the people that actually have poor writing and notation skills.

And here we are once again, the part where you criticize VWs for no logical reason whatsoever. You seem to revert to this when you run out of things to say. Maybe you should take some time to gather new insults...

no tubing is tubing and pipe is pipe.

Maybe we should have a vote on which is a bigger pos my old beat up supra or your newer VW.

Got it. I just installed a new downTUBE on my car. I'll remember that. I just learned something.

Shocking that I learned something right funky monkey? Being that I own a VW and what not.

How are we defining "pos". If you're referring to functionality, appearance, and reliability, then I don't think it would be much of a comparison.

And you sure got me scared now with a vote taking place. God forbid the others on this forum dislike my car as much as you. I'll try not to lose any sleep over it though.

It also amuses me that you would suggest such a thing. Perhaps you're just looking for some reassurance that you don't sound like an idiot right now. So by having others say that my car is a shitbox or a pos, you'll feel justified in your feeble remarks towards it.

Wow I am getting a education here. Monday morning I am going to the local tool supply store and get a pipe bender. I didn't know they could do such tight radius bends. That would have saved me a lot of time with all my pie cuts. Maybe I should have better designed my stuff so I could have just bought all mandrel bends.
