I'd imagine either a high compression NA or a small, quick spooling turbo would be almost equally as good as each other. You don't really want lag for auto-x.

I would definitely say that an all motor setup would be more ideal for auto-x or road racing... but you could also do ok with is amll, quick spooling turbo.

i'd say turbo for harwood and here's why:

If he were to build up a motor, he'd spend almost as much on the build as a turbo kit for the stock d-series. And, knowing harwood's driving habits, he'd blow a built motor sky high because he'd miss 3-4 gear shifts and go in 2nd 😛 ...thats when all that money that he spent on the motor build went down the drain. But if he goes with a turbo kit, he can blow a motor and go get another stock one for $450 or less rather than building another one...i know that n/a would be better, but turbo would be more easier on the pocketbook in the long run (with harwood's ways heh)...that and bov's RULE! hehe

seriously though, if it were me, i'd go turbo just because i' have the "comfort" of knowing that if a motor decides to let go for some reason all i have to do is go find another stock one for cheap...peace

btw, WTF is harwood gonna want to do next week with his car?!?! the world will never know

yeah that is very true but i dont think building a d-series is very expensive but who knows

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

Long runs on track+turbo=melted honda motor. Reliability is probably more important that high hp. Cant have fun if your broken.

Torbs, you also have to realize that a built NA motor can take more of a beating than a turbo stock motor. Plus it can rev alot higher if you buld the valve train correctly and get it ballanced. Building a d-series is really cheap.

i agree having lag would really suck for auto-x and road tracks. I really dont think im goin that route. Prolly NA.
