Even though it seems like it'd work... the problem would be it'd become costly to resupply dry ice... plus wouldn't you think that the carbon gases (if dry ice is composed of it) would need to escape as well...

why is it stupid.......... what are you gona do, run down the local 711 and pick up some dry ice to keep it cool? that's why it's stupid, it's imprtactical! in theory I'm sure it's good for another couple hp, but not worth it imo.

putting a box full of dry ice around your cold air intake is going to add about as much hp as one of those winnebago shitter exhaust fans in your throttle body.

You need a cold air intake just about as bad as you need a wing designed for downforce at 190 miles per hour.

it will add more than just a regular cold air intake...

A colder air charge means the air is denser, which helps the combustion process to be more efficient. How is that useless?

it wouldn't be worth 2 hp.

this isnt very money efficient more than likely. this is just about as smart and my buddys idea to hook a duct from his a/c to his intake, so he would have a cold super charger. LMFAO, stupid wheeler.

a/c into intake, thought about in the past then figured not worth time or the money

You guys are looking at this all wrong, its not meant for you to keep it full of ice all the time, its meant for when ur at the track, to lower your intake temps. It's not all that dumb. I think most of you have been out at Sabin, haven’t you ever seen a domestic with a bag of ice sittin on the manifold? It’s an old drag racing technique used for many years, alot of professional drag racers do it. No it’s not gonna move you into the 12's but every little bit helps.

Common sense would help here.... where can you buy dry ice? I'm asking an honest question. Is it available in Fargo? Is it even legal to have by the normal person. These are all serious questions.
