or just get press bent then, since you aren't going forced induction. It'll save you a lot of money.

Well the people at cavalier forums must be retards...

          2.4l 4 Cyl...

You still have a cat, the backpressure is still there... 2.5inch vs. 2.25...

I highly highly doubt your going to loose any power from having larger exhaust, more likely it will just be more high flowing.

Here's the thing though, your not talking about freeing up much hp either way from bolting on exhaust... so whatever you do you prob wont notice a huge difference. If your looking to do it cheap, just visit somebody like muffler man and have them press bend them as it prob wont even make a huge difference anyway

I'm running 2.5 inch on a 1.6 liter engine. I certainly didn't loose any power by doing so. If you cant afford it right now, then hold off on doing it untill you can. I know how it is to want to get it done especially with the parts right in front of you, but I also firmly believe in doing it right the FIRST time. Don't mess aroud with pressbent pipe. Alot of times, the actual pipe diameter is down too well under 2" inside diameter when the bends are made and your exhaust only flows as well as the smallest piece will allow.

My muffler has a 2.25 inlet and then my cat. has a 2.25 inlet and outlet. Would that be a problem with 2.5 inch piping.

I'm still stock also except for the air filter/adapter under the hood. You gotta start somewhere. So let me get this right, You need some major shit done to your car now to have exhaust done for it to be justifiable? Oh shit then Tufte I need to turbo my car NOW!!!!!

Yeah i checked at fm exhaust and brake, but i have an appointment for thursday at exhaust pros for 2.5 compression bends for about $145. Should be a pretty good system i think with my magnaflow muffler and converter.

I was at FM Exhaust getting a muffler installed when you stopped in. That's an interesting coincidence.
