As the title says, what is a good engine management system that is fairly inexpensive. I want something besides a VAFC.

How about stock? Your car has zero mods worth tuning for.

^^^^I was thinking the same thing^^^^

But if you were to run a program I would say start with uberdata then once you have that down, move to crome.

Megasquirt, hands down. just wait for ULTRAmegasquirt. plus, @ $140 for a kit, you cant really go wrong.

No reason to run megasquirt on a honda. Just chip the ECU and do all the exact same shit with a free program. 🙂

No reason why that AFC wont work perfect.

I'm with darkelvis...there aren't many things that you can't do on a chipped honda ecu w/ free software if you've got the ability to get chips burned etc., unless of course you are going alll out, then hondata and AEM have some pretty trick features. While we are on the topic, (sorry to thread jack) anyone got a burner that the could burn me a rom for a modified honda rom????

If i were you I would get a chipped ECU, a cam gear, and get some dyno time. There's nothing with that combo that you couldn't do if you were to have hondata or some $$$ bling ass engine management.

If you are getting a comp stage 2 you also need the springs and retainers. Hope you have those. 🙂

And no, you don't need to tune. But you still could get more power out of it than honda has it as stock. The car is made for fuel efficiency, not power. If you tuned your fuel down to around the 13.5:1 range it would give you more power. 🙂
