I thought that they were 6 bolt up until 92.5 I believe. So I am guessing that a flywheel from any DSM from 92.5 and up would work.

some 90's came 7 bolt that is what came out of the car and he put in his 91 eclipse. but there is 2 kinds of turbo 7 bolt flywheels one is thicker then the other. so would the thicker 2nd gen clucth work in a first gen.

No 90 0r 91 came 7 bolt. If it has a 7 bolt in it, someone previously swapped it. Clutches from 90-99 all fit.

Josh, if there's a 7 bolt flywheel in there.... Someone's done a swap. Guaranteed. And the clutch is the same for a 6 or 7 bolt anyway.

but is the turbo flywheel different. and can you use a turbo clucth assembly (flywheel, clucth, pressure plate) on a non turbo thats what i need to know if there is any thing different between the turbo and non turbo flywheel, clucth, pressure plate i know the turbo flywheel and clucth are bigger but can you use the turbo setup in a non turbo? because the non turbo clucth and pressure plate will go on but there is like 1/2 inch of play in the clucth ( up and down whise)

The FWD parts are the same, but you can't switch AWD and FWD flywheels. This is assuming you have a 2.0 NT motor, if it's a 1.8, I have no idea.

I think the fwd flywheels are 12 inch's tall and the awd flywheels are 11.5 inch's tall

First....ALL NTs flywheels are different from the turbos. The clutches will not work. NT flywheels have no step to them at all. The flywheel surface is totally flat. 7-bolts were equipped in the DSMs starting May 1992. I have a good 7-bolt NT flywheel. Out of a 93 NT 2.0L. Also have said tranny as well. Both worked good until it hit that tree.

You can install a Turbo flywheel (FWD or AWD) in a NT car, but they are thicker (due to the step) and would also require a matching turbo tranny to clear the bellhousing. In other words....unless you feel like swapping in another tranny....find a 2.0L NT 7-bolt flywheel.

And also, you can install a AWD flywheel into a FWD tranny, but your starter will not mesh (smaller diameter ring gear for AWD). And a FWD flywheel will not fit into an AWD bellhousing.
