Ok. some kids in my auto clas are building a 5.0 mustang as a class project thing. They are braging on how its goin to be so fast and all(hoping for 13s they say), so i decided to continue my work on my 64 chevy pickup since my dad would be paying for the parts. Here is some info so far and some pics.

    big tranny cooler
    flex-a-lite fan
    comp cams cam
    side pipes
    glasspacks
    american racing rally wheels
some other crap i cant remember

As you can see it needs a lot of work and unfortunately as you can see in the rear shot the frame is a little twisted. the tranny is getting built over the winter, bed is going to be aluminum or tin, it will have some good sized tubs, who knows what else, maybe build the motor a little more. It needs new wiring and brakes. I think this is going to end up being mostly a drag truck. If anyone wants to give a helping hand your free to help.

Needs a blower or a BBC.

Still this has a lot of potential.

Oh, and the turck and the mustang will be racing each other next spring. My teahcer loved it when i braught up the idea of a build off. Even tho the truck isnt getting built at the shop in school due to space issues.

Also, no flamming on how i am switching projects, i have had this truck for almost 8 years.

BTW: I am going to need as many helping hands as possible to get this done by spring.

also, i have a rust free cab from AZ that needs to be put onto a frame and i dont really want to take the time to swap it onto a twisted frame. It would be cool to find a short box frame tho.

but they are hoping it will even run 13's. ive seen trucks like mine with 327's run low 12's high 11's with a cam, carb, itake mani, and headers, just basic shit. so this thing will be fast.

actually, all the wood will be gone and tin or aluminum will be there, no carpet or anything, just enough stuff to make it go, fiberglass fenders and hood possibly.

its not goin to be too much
parts for this thing ar cheaper than parts for my honda....now thats sad....i have many catalogues and have come to the conclusion, all wiring is 500, and the body parts and rubber seals are goin to be the most expensive parts besides tinning the bed. and its a SBC so motor parts are cheap.

dumb question here, but what was the other project you are setting aside for this?

i am a chevy kinda guy but as was said fox body stangs can be made quick for little money.
i would think if you kept the weight to a minumum, set the suspension up right and were able to hook it would be a drivers race.

Here's some inspiration. This is from New Rockford here. The owner and his brother fix up old cars/trucks as a hobby. As you can see, by the meats on the back, this truck does have some serious nuts.
